Just Blaze producing track for Kendrick Lamar

It might have caught your eye in the midst of Lord Knows leaking, but super producer Just Blaze let the cat out of the bag that he would be working with the buzzing Compton upstart, Kendrick Lamar. K. Dot confirmed the rumors but didn’t give a name or day it was releasing.

This makes it clearer that maybe we wont see a new Dr Dre track yet, as recent rumours stated.

  1. I like this turn-out better, K.dot on a Blaze production would have to be fire.

  2. It's "Compton City" or not? Ничего не понятно, запутали весь мир уже. Комптон сити будет синглом или нет?

  4. This has nothing to do with Dr. Dre or Detox so there's no reason to get mad. Dre didn't do any production for Slim's mixtape either except take a day to slightly master the song he was on. This is just about Blaze producing a record for Kendrick. Yet people still get mad...

Literally everyone who would know says Dre is constantly working, we know Snoop and DOC are taking a lead working on it too, but with Dre putting it out it's about getting it to 100% or else it's still 0%. 7-8 years later I'll wait longer for a perfect record than getting a let-down record now. He hasn't produced anything for anybody that wasn't for Detox in a long time, and I imagine any Dre beats in the past few years have just been throwaway beats from the album sessions.

Also there is no Compton Whatever, our resident liar and credit thief "S" has been saying it's coming for a year, but before he disappeared he changed it from he had it to leak it himself. Big shock, proven liars are proven to be liars again.

  5. This is funny, the song rummored to be from detox is now for a knedrick lamar project, drug test ended up on r.e.d, psycho might be on 50 cent's coming album, chillin ended up on swizz beats', all those along back against the wall and otheres where claimed to be from "detox sessions" and now either thrown away or given to other artists, and who knows, maybe many of the songs dre appeared on or only produced since he first mentioned detox, might have also been from "detox sessions".

  7. The difference is that this latest song was never meant to be for Detox or by Dre, that was just fan speculation.

It's not a secret that easily most Dre joints since 2002-2003 were originally during Detox sessions, and deemed "not Detox good but good enough for someone else" so they're just given away to whomever had a project Dre was doing at the time (50, Game, Busta, etc.).

BTW, I don't think VIP Chillin' was ever for Detox, just a joint that came out of Swizz's sessions with Dre for Haute Living. IIRC I don't think Swizz even produced it, Dre just had a verse on it.

  12. many of the songs since that 2002-03 were tight, actually most of them, i wish detox will have similar but more "next level" beats.

And about chillin, theres a video about the same time that song leaked, where dre and swizz were at a party or something, and swizz saying that its from dre's new record, you can check on youtube or in the archives of this blog, it doesn't matter now anyway...

Now am just waiting for that "big" single or some news that come from dre himself, iam sick of each time someone says detox almost finished, sounds great, etc.

  13. ^^ I was one of first to see that video (kept refreshing YouTube until that account publicized the second part of that video unveiling it), and all I can guess is that it just came out of Dre's sessions with Swizz to contribute whatever he can toward Detox. Everyone contributes all the time by working with Dre or sending him material.

Maybe at the time he or even Dre too felt it could make Detox but not long after Swizzy shot that down and said it was for his own record. Then I saw Swizz or Dre didn't even produce it and it's pretty damn far from any song Dre would put on his last "perfect" album, so chalk it up to anything. Maybe he misspoke, maybe he actually thought Dre would take it for Detox, but I remember Dre going out of his way to say "produced by Swizz Beats". Not to mention the song is stupid in a variety of ways and if that's the endgame of 7-8 years of on-and-off album perfection, then all of us are fucked by Dre's brand-new insanity. So I choose to believe VIP Chillin' was not for Detox and never was.
