Ten years? This is like the fourth or fifth Detox (at least) and I can believe X if he was there and says Dre has picked and finished the intro. It seems the opposite at first but it's actually a pretty major step toward completing the album, because it would mean Dre finishing the into track that sets the tone and defines the album's contents hints a lot of the bulk of the records are probably picked. Then again it's not that simple and in the past it's been scrapped and come down to this: every aspect, every second on the CD, every minimally-existent audible fragment has to come together exactly perfect to his standards. That's what makes or breaks it. Even if Dre has the songs picked, gets them mixed to a stage that's at least suitable enough to count as a complete prototype, he gets to working on those millions of microscopic little things and combs through that shit like a surgeon. Even if the shit seems "done" to the ears and senses of everyone else on the planet, it's not even close to him. Even if everyone swears that shit is wrapped up and ready because they heard it, but Dre can't get it EXACTLY perfect, even the shit 90% of anybody listening wouldn't ever notice or hear, he will scrap the whole thing without a second thought if he doesn't feel that shit is absolutely flawless.
That's what he's going for and fuck it, appreciate that shit, I'll wait longer if it means we get perfection over an album that limbos under the bar just so it can get pushed out only for the sake of getting out. At this point after so many years why rush anything now? No sense is demanding something be rushed after this long because at this point I expect the most advanced shit ever.
I don't think anyone has actually lied about where Detox is, but it's all in Dre's head and they only know what they're told at the time, and things change easily. He probably has hundreds of songs literally ready to go and new enough, but unless it's absolutely 100% perfected and done in Dre's head, it's 0% done, and that's what people need to understand the most. They think Dre has been working song-by-song on the same album for 10 years because they don't pay attention.
i get the feeling wel get detox in 2012 but what people have to realize is that it wont just drop over night even wen its complete to dres very high standards and hes happy with it all the money interscope has invested over the years means there will be a huge promotional campaign to build up the hype and excitment for the album so they get the highest possible return from there investment ...
its at 8:40 if you all are looking for it. i don't believe a word anyone is saying these days though.
