Nate Dogg guest appearance as hologram, with Dre at Coachella

Nate Dogg isn't letting a little thing like death keep him away from Coachella this weekend -- sources tell TMZ, the rapper will be making a very special guest appearance on stage ... in the form of a HOLOGRAM.

Sources tell us, Dr. Dre didn't want to leave Nate out of his Sunday performance -- so he's incorporating his old friend using hologram technology ... the same technology that broadcast Mariah Carey's image across Europe last year ... at 5 simultaneous concerts.

We're told an image of Nate will be projected onto the Coachella stage -- alongside Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Warren G, and Daz Dillinger -- to make it appear as though he's actually performing on stage.

According to sources, Nate will perform several songs.

The singer passed away last March -- just weeks before last year's Coachella festival.

  1. Iif detox ever sees the light of day however good it is it wont be quite the same without Nate every great west coast album has one or two Nate Dogg appearances. It makes me wonder if there's any of Nates material that's not been released.

  5. HOLOGRAM NATE D-O-DOUBLE-G with Daz, Snoop, Kurupt, and Warren G on stage and some of you motherfuckers invent another way to complain about it!

I don't really believe or expect this performance to have much of anything to do with Detox and it probably shouldn't be. This isn't just a Dre/Snoop set. This is an event and Dre is making sure it's a memorable one and that should be appreciated. If he cares that much to get the media hype and give the fans something special, it should give you some hope for Detox anyway. But then again, nothing he does is thanked, just turned inside-out as "so this means..." blah blah.

Give it up for once. This is fucked up in that good way and we're all going to be hounding YouTube for clips of this shit the night of the first set.
