  3. ^^^ absolutely agree....

This was concrete proof that Detox is dead: no mention whatsoever of the album during this set.

    Dre and Snoop are old.

    Gangsta rap genre is over.

  4. What is the purpose of this, if there is no annoucement on detox. Finally, why is 50 here performing? Dude have always been disloyal. Game should have been there.

  8. Fuck Dre and his headphones... We can't wait for a thing that doesn't exist... in 10 years and + he wasn't able to do a fuckin album with all his resources, people and artists that gave their contribution...

  9. Wait for dre's last performance and then comment. I guess one way or the other we will find out then if he is ready to release the detox album. At the moment no one knows the truth about the album apart from dre so its better to wait...

  10. I think everyone should pipe down here for a second. I agree that it was tremendously disappointing that there was no detox news (much less a sampling of music), but call me crazy, there is still another show next weekend. If I were going to announce something like that I wouldn't let the cat out of the bag a week before the final show, I would save something to go out with a massive bang.

BUT, as much as I hate to say it, if there is no Detox news at the next performance, I agree this shit is over and I am going to try to move on. This is the biggest stage Dre could ever ask for. Blowing this opportunity means there's nothing else to talking about.

    Sad, but very true.

  12. the dubstep remix of forgot about dre was sick as fuck. its not over yet, theres still another weekend for them to announce detox, maybe saving the best for last? If theres no mention of it by next weekend, then ya I can't see detox ever coming out. everyones so angry on here, just enjoy the music for what it is, if theres an announcement that's a bonus!

  13. Might as well have been just a hologram of Dre up there since he's always in the lab "processing Detox", or so he says. As the years go by with no blip of detox and only smoking mirrors and rumors, I'm beginning to realize how washed up Dre's become. Its a pity.

  14. I agree with most here - If Dre couldn't perform a Detox song with this platform at Coachella then the project is just a unicorn. I'd definitely say that he's been working on it a ton, but he obviously can't commit to a theme or sound for it. He got back together with D.O.C. last year, he's been around snoop, kurupt, daz (basically his old team) a lot the past 6 months, and he's had Kendrick in the studio several times in the past year. If Dre couldnt find the chemistry with all the resources at his fingertips to have Detox ready for this summer, and a single at Coachella to pop it off, then I'd have to say that there's no reason to believe he ever will.

  15. Okay the positives: the show gave me chills. So excited for Warren G, although it would've been sweet if him and a holographic Nate Dogg performed Regulators. Eminem, dope. Watching Tupac & Snoop made me almost cry. Kendrick has a fuck load of energy and can rap really good live. Surprisingly, and i'm pretty sure it wasn't even rumored either, the appearance from 50 cent was fucking dope when 'What Up Gangsta' started up.

Negatives: yeh, could've ended it with some info or a new song. Lets just hope next week ends with some sort of encore. (A new and insanely hyped west coast banger featuring all of them. Along with the roof blowing off the top, the stage setting fire and the fans going wild. After that, there wont be nothin after that.. just that, the aftermath.)

  16. Told you guys not to expect Detox material. Maybe you'll get something the next week but why hold your breath?

The fact you guys get hung-up believing Dre is gonna deliver Detox whenever he shows his face completely destroys what matters: HOLOGRAM TUPAC! What the fuck! It's like you guys are completely oblivious to it because you're too distracted and obsessed with something else. Exactly what I said; too hung-up to enjoy what matters. Goddamn.

    1. I wanted to see the Hologram Pac more than wanting to hear new material. I thought it would be awesome and it was. If only they brought him out for California Love. That would have been EPIC.

    2. My theory is this: The first show was all about the features. Kurupt, Warren, Eminem, Pac, 50, Kendrick & Wiz. The second show, I think, will be all about Dre and Snoop, because if you look at the tweets from the artists themselves and the information leaked about the show, I doubt all the guests will be back for the second weekend. This will give Dre the whole stage to himself to do whatever the hell he wants. If he doesn't do anything, Detox is a myth and I will stop caring. Nuff said.

    3. agreed. and everyone should just be thankful that they are performing, and not holograms like tupac. be thankful dre, snoop, eminem etc are alive and well and on stage in 2012 giving their all.

    4. I don't see why anyone would believe his second set won't have features, even if they get shuffled around with different people to make it interesting, but it can't be that much different. If Dre wanted to make waves and headlines for Detox, he would have done something the first night. There's extremely little chance something bigger than a Tupac hologram is being saved for next week's set.

It doesn't prove or disprove Detox is coming because nobody whining will believe themselves when they say Detox is a myth, it just means he came to Coachella to give a set MOST people expect and want. Most people don't know, don't care, or forgot about Detox and are there because it's the last big set and expect the shit they know. That's a fact. Detox isn't happening from Coachella, not trying to burst anyone's bubble, but better to accept reality now than set yourself up for failure later. Enjoy the set for what it is! It looked dope.

  17. Im from new zealand and missed the live streaming so iv only seen the videos above and i didnt spot JoiStarr? Next week? Maybe a new show?

  18. Those saying there will be no info on detox next week, the question is then which songs will dre drop next week? He reminded us of all his hits (past) last sunday so are you telling me that he is going to take us through the same hits again, that would be strange! Please remember that what ever songs he did not consider last sunday are not better than the ones he did (my opinion). Just ask yourself, which songs did he consider during the up in smoke tour? The answer would be the same songs he did last sunday because they are the hits from his past. So I personally expect something new next sunday. Think about it what will JoiStarr be doing the next sunday, singing the chorus on B...aint shit (The chronic album)? I doubt it! Its detox time (my opinion)! Been a D.R.E. fan since the birth of NWA!!!!!!!!!

  19. what the hell is every1 bitchin about, that show was crazy!!!
i have doubts bout detox like every1 else but im stil a loyal fan,
you guys have no idea bout dre

  20. It was absolutely clear to me that we couldnt expect some new shit on the first set, because ist just in the middle of coachella, but the next Show will be at the end and it will give coachella the most epic end, if he Releases some Infos about detox.

  21. just a question i am unfamiliar with the logistics of coachella, are the first week performances usually the same as the second week ones usually or are they different?

  22. Just curious if anyone else noticed the comment snoop makes at 8:05 of this video after performing "jump around?" "You believe now, huh?" Dre responded with "That's fucked up." To people on here who assume Dre needs the inspiration and drive from the fans reaction to put out Detox, is this of any significance? I could be totally off but just something I noticed.

  23. I don't know why the organizers are doing it this way (except to sell more tickets obviously) but I was really confused by the layout this year. After asking my sister since she always works at Coachella every year, it is two separate weekends with the same artists and headliners, at least most of them, repeating the first weekend to a brand-new mass of people that could only make it the second week. It's stupid but that's what it is and when you realize it's only about making a big outdoor festival twice as big by repeating it and making probably twice the money, it makes more sense. They perform one weekend and come back the next week.

With that said there's no reason to make up this nonsense that Dre and Snoop are doing two entirely different sets making sure not to repeat the last one. It isn't like the crowds who showed up the first weekend are all coming back the next week - do you know how expensive tickets to Coachella are now? This is a new crowd, with the artists doing another show, because the organizers and promoters set it up that way. If people are buying tickets, they're going to sell them. IMO the second set will resemble the first. I doubt it'll be exactly the same but a Detox-flavored surprise would be the shit. Just don't bet on it; however it is nice Dre can do surprises like Pac's CG ghost for the fans. Hope but don't expect.
