Reports have surfaced about a possible reunion between Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg in the form of a Memorial Day Weekend event in Miami, Florida. According to top Hip Hop blog, You Heard That New, this will be a "massive event" but no official details have been released and little is known about the plans.
The two first linked up when Dr. Dre signed Snoop Dogg out of Long Beach, California. The two have since been linked based on their partnership in the early 90's, a bond that allowed them to create Snoop's 1993 debut, Doggystyle and other memorable cuts since. However, they have not collaborated consistently in years.
While many supporters will be pleased to hear of this rumor, it wouldn't be the first time plans for a Dre/Snoop reunion failed to come to fruition. Snoop once announced that he and Dr. Dre would team up for Break Up to Make Up, an album that never came to be. Most recently however, the rapper/producer duo reunited for "Kush," the first track released for Dr. Dre's highly anticipated Detox album.

ReplyDeletememmorial weekend my ass thats sounds like something dr dre wont do just like detox
ReplyDeleteif i was dre i would be happy to sell a headphone at 300 or 400 or 500 a pop instead of a mediocre 15$ that a cd would bring or a fraction of 15$ to be pressice
This blog is dying.....
ReplyDeleteIt's not dying, it's just that after 4/20 came and went without a word from Dre, people are mad and don't care anymore. Personally I don't know why any of you guys hinged on anything happening on 4/20, Dre's people already shot it down THE DAY AFTER that video was uploaded. More and more people are learning the lesson that those like me learned long ago from waiting for this album 6-7 years now.
ReplyDeleteDetox is probably coming in the summer (although I'm not betting on it) but it seems like Dre is more interested in selling headphones. Can you blame him? Are you surprised? There's hundreds of millions to be made off the Beats brand. He'll package some Detox Beats with the album, make a lot of money, and that'll be that. Detox coming out isn't going to be the grand event people think it will be. It'll be big and hyped when it drops but it'll be old news before you know it. It won't be as good as the last two, it'll probably be banging as far as hip-hop goes these days with some fire tracks, but it won't nearly be worth this kind of wait and frustration. Anyone who thinks it will be once they hear it is full of shit. No album is worth this anticipation because it can never live up to it. I don't care what you tell me.
This album isn't 8-9 years in the making either, it's probably 1-2 years in the making since Dre barely worked on it until a few years ago and scrapped it more than once. Considering Dre enlisted half of hip-hop to "help" and also relies on monkeys like Slim da Mobster to tell Dre what's hot, it should be worth SOMETHING, but in the end: fuck it. Can't blame the longtime fans like myself, can you? The leaks suck, Dre has ZERO focus or concept for it, and he's putting it out because he has to, and he also knows it can't disappoint. He's stuck. He knows it. We know it. That's why you never get any concrete info on Detox because Dre isn't nearly finished and even he couldn't tell you what's going on. He keeps starting over, scrapping, doing different shit because he doesn't know what the hell he's doing anymore except relentlessly and desperately trying to put SOMETHING together that works for his legacy and the bottom line. Dre's talent was never creating. It's perfecting. You can't perfect material from nothing because Dre doesn't create anything from scratch. That's his problem. Should've hung on to Elizondo and D.O.C. rather than steal credit and throw them under the bus for your ego but I bet he regrets it now.
It's a fucking shame I know but that's the truth. I wish Dre put out Detox when Bishop Lamont was all over it because they were on some super dope shit we'll never hear (except that really rough "Who's Yo Daddy Bitch?!" reference/demo). That's that. I'm still all over Detox and respect Dre to the fullest but I'm gonna be real about it.
oh my god ^^^
ReplyDeleteYou explained it better than i ever could
I aint jealous of anyone who brings exclusive news.
ReplyDeleteLIKE I HAD SAID BEFORE MANY TIMES - i encourage people to bring exclusive fresh news, as long as it has a STRONG VALID SOURCE.
Otherwise it wont be accepted here, and i would treat as just hype.
So you erased all of the comments by everyone?? Dude let me be the first to say that your a very immature guy....i know brits are pompas but what the fuck...freedom of speech.. its a BLOG. Not Uzee's personal web page....fuck this shit...people are just enjoying themselves because they have nothing else to look forward to...i am completely stunned and dissapointed...This isnt a blog anymore..its personal between uzee and the fans...
ReplyDelete^^Agreed
ReplyDeleteinstead of judging maybe u should ask why i deleted the comments. Part of the answer is my previous comment, if u read it.
ReplyDeleteThe reason i deleted the short random comments were because they were linked to the hype that S (no disrespect) had published here.
Just because there is lack of concrete detox news, doesn't mean that one can just post hype to get fans excited and put down again.
Just like the whole 4-20 fiasco lol.
I have my reasons for my actions.
Peace
4/20 wasn't hyped by the fans....it was hyped by DR Dre...All I am saying is that you need to relax a little bit...it's a good site just let the fans have their fun in the sun...a few comments here and there arent going to hurt anyone...besides the s guy actually did know some things in the past like mr prescription which if i remember correctly, you doubted. no sweat tho i hear you on the not getting fans to excited but let the loyal followers have their fun...people can believe what they want to or choose to beleive...
ReplyDeleteyes the 4/20 was created by dre but instantly shot down by the PR person the next day.
ReplyDeleteAnd thats what im saying, i mostly allow comments, but when it comes to news/rumours - u gotta post some kinda source too.
Not just 'i'll post it tomorrow'.
Peace

ReplyDelete^^ lol now here is a perfect example lol. Hype without source, normaly i would delete the above comment thinkin its fake without source.
ReplyDeleteTHERE IS NO SUCH SONG CALLED RADIOACTIVITY. THAT MUCH I KNOW AND THAT IS NOT THE NEWS I AM BRINGING TO THE TABLE. I WILL POST IT WHEN I HAVE IT CONFIRMED. I AM NOT GOING TO MAKE EMPTY PROMISES.
ReplyDeleteS
S - You were the one who told us about the song Radioactivity!
ReplyDeleteThis article is retarted. there is no source whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteagain - now you see what i mean lol??
ReplyDeleteSome fake (maybe) HYPE created, along with unnecessary controversy. When Dre does this, fans hate him. But when some random peep creates hype, then......lol
no actually i dont see what you mean uzee can you explain it further...
ReplyDeletewhat i mean is that some think its ok for a random peep to create hype, as they are just having fun. : /

ReplyDelete"Considering Dre enlisted half of hip-hop to "help" and also relies on monkeys like Slim da Mobster to tell Dre what's hot"
ReplyDelete"Should've hung on to Elizondo and D.O.C. rather than steal credit and throw them under the bus for your ego but I bet he regrets it"
Ain't that the truth right there!
GLAD TO BACK ON THIS BLOG UZEE THANKS FOR KEEPING IT UP.
ReplyDeleteFIRST OFF I THINK THAT PEOPLE NEED TO CUT DRE SOME SLACK HE LOST A SON THATS ENOUGH TO MESS SOMEONE UP FOR YEARS. I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WOULD DO IF I LOST MY SON. HE HAS MORE IMPORTANT SHIT ON HIS MIND THAN THIS ALBUM. IT WILL COME.
YES I AM GLAD THERE IS NO D.O.C. OR BISHOP. THEY DON'T FIT DETOX. THIS HOPEFULLY WILL NOT BE ANOTHER GANGSTA RAP CD. DRE IS PUSHIN 50 RAPPING ABOUT GUNS AND BLUNTS WOULD BE LUDACRIS DRE HOPEFULLY HAS GROWN OUT OF THAT. THAT WAS YESTERDAY WESTCOAST IS DEAD AND HAS BEEN FOR YEARS.
HIP HOP ITSELF IS PRETTY MUCH DEAD. DRE NEEDS TO BRING A NEW SOUND HE'S HITTING IT PRETTY CLOSE WITH UNDER PRESSURE AND PRESCRIPTION. IF YOU LISTEN CLOSELY TO MR PRESCRIPTION WEARING HEADPHONES CHECK OUT THE KEYS AND BASSLINE WHEN THE CHORUS SHOULD COME IN THERE IS A HINT OF TECHNO/ELECTRO POP AND VOCODER SOUNDS LIKE KRAFTWERK SAME WITH UNDER PRESSURE IF THESE SONGS DID NOT LEAK AND GOTTEN FINISHED THEY WOULD BE HITS IN MY BOOK MUSIC HAS CHANGED ITS REENTERING AN ELECTRO SOUNG ALA THE EARLY 80S THIS IS THE DIRECTION I WOULD LIKE TO SEE DRE GO INTO.
HE KNOWS WHATS GOING ON. KUSH AND I NEED A DOCTOR ARE NOT OFFICIAL SINGLES THEY LEAKED PEOPLE LIKED THEM SO DRE DECIDED TO GO WITH THEM.
WHEN THAT FIRST SINGLE DOES ARRIVE A LOT OF PEOPLE ON THIS BLOG ARE GONNA BE EATING THEIR WORDS.
J MAC IF YOUR READING THIS GET YOUR ASS BACK ON THIS SITE. THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE LIKE US AND UZEE WHO KNOW WHAT THE FUCK THEIR TALKIN ABOUT.
CUT DRE SOME SLACK PEOPLE. THIS ALBUM IS NOT TEN YEARS IN THE MAKING REMEMBER DRE TOOK A BREAK TO PRODUCE. NOT TO MENTION ALL OF THE OTHER MORE IMPORTANT SHIT HE HAS HAD TO DEAL WITH THESE PAST FEW YEARS. KUDOS FOR HIM WITH THE BEATS LINE THEY ARE AMAZING.
UZEE MAY CREATE SOME INTERESTING BLOGS LIKE FAVORITE DRE TRACK OF ALL TIME/ AFTERMATH OR DEATHROW ? FAVORITE N.W.A TRACK, DRE PRODUCED TRACK ETC. JUST AN IDEA IM STILL HYPED FOR DETOX HOPE TO HERE FROM YA
PS KEEP ERASING
^^thanks for your comments.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah i had already thought of creating these type of questions and have been doin on Twitter @uzee1
I'm also be posting the same question/s here, soon.
Forget the D.O.C/Bishop that shit is so played out its dead. Dre is pushing 50 hopefully he has grown out of that shit plus cut the guy some slack he lost a son I would lose focus for years. Hopefully the lost of his son and Nate will give him the inspiration and drive to get this done. I support him however long he takes. Mr prescription if finished would have sounded great. If you listen closely where there is no chorus you can hear a hint of electro/techno pop/ vocoder sounds like Kraftwerk early 80s. Dre needs to reintroduce this sound to the people who weren't around in the 80s to enjoy it. A little similiar to under pressure. If these 2 tracks did not leak(get stolen)and had gotten finished they would've been hits. That Le Roux track he is borrowing from is sick. if you haven't heard it check it out. Jmac get your ass back on this blog we need you too many people on here don't know what the fuck their talking about. Don't give up hope. Dre knows what he's doing. Can you even imagine what's been going on in his mind the past year. Maybe if some of you people change your attitudes you may just get what you want. Btw I need a doctor and kush are not official singles. They leaked(were stolen) people liked them so Dre decided to go with them. When that first official Dre produced track does hit alot of people on here are going to rethink everything they've been saying. Start showing some love and you just might get what you've been waithing for. Glad to be back on your blog Uzee KEEP ERASING
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling they are hype singles not for detox but for beats products, because if we cast our minds back, Under Pressure was featured on the HP Beats Laptop ad, Kush was featured on the Power Beats headphones ad with Lebron and now INAD is featured on the ad for Beats in Chrysler cars! All the while generating hype for Detox vicariously
ReplyDeleteHey, people ! I have a very interresting news: Xzibit recorded some tracks with Dre for "DETOX" ! Here is the link: http://www.younghollywood.com/videos/yhstudio/april/xzibit.html
ReplyDeleteLet's see if he makes the final album cut. I hope so !
Dre lost a son he had when he was a teenager, that he never actually raised, that he didn't live with in any sort of implied family sense. I'm sure he had some sort of relationship with him but people making excuses for Detox by alluding that "he lost a son" shit aren't going to fool me. Dre was fucking up Detox well before one of his sons overdosed. Has nothing to do with anything. Leave his son's passing out of it.
ReplyDeleteMr. Prescription was an unfinished track among thousands in Dre's vault someone obviously leaked. It sucks. Period. And I'm not going to judge that La Roux sampled track that will probably end up on Detox, but I've heard "In for the Kill" sampled and remixed a million fucking times. It's hot but really unoriginal and old. Shit even Game spit over a beat sampling it. If Dre can make it better than Skream's Let's Get Ravey Remix then he'll accomplish something but I'm not counting on it.
Who knows if Kush and INAD are on Detox anymore. It was a sure thing they were going to be at the time but Dre probably scrapped everything again. It doesn't mean they were never meant to be on Detox, Dre himself alluded to Kush being on the album. Those records were leaked on purpose, got a good response, and were put out. Under Pressure got a huge "WTF is this shit" response and it was canned. See a pattern here? That's how it works - this is a business you guys and Detox is a very valuable commodity to Interscope because of the value of its own hype and the fact it can jumpstart other careers of rappers on the album if it's huge. Not to mention using Detox's hype to sell overpriced headphones is extremely lucrative to Dre and more importantly, Jimmy Iovine (head of Interscope and executive producer of Detox). These guys are going to make sure Detox is the best album at the right time to maximize what they can get out of it's release. In other words, it's about MONEY. They're going to leak shit first to gauge the response to know it'll sell. They're too careful to simply put it out because the backfire of so much hype is that it can easily be used to fall short of high expectations and flop. Detox is a commodity to sell headphones and cement Dre's legacy (image) to sell more shit and make more commercials after it's out, period.
If Dre is so great and has all his hands on the puppet strings, then what's the problem here? Put out Detox and stop releasing shitty songs that make real fans agonize and have to go in denial about the album they waited so long for. Dre is obviously struggling to put together Detox because of its own hype. It can't live up to it. Dre has to put out a hard BANGER to get the momentum and his confidence back, I know he must have one, he just needs to suck it up and put one out and then he can finally finish Detox and we can all move on.
