Akon worked with Dre on more than one track

'Kon was more assured in his reverence for Dr. Dre. Last year's "Kush," the official lead single from Dre's long-awaited Detox album, featured a vocal from Akon. "Dre is one of those guys ... he's a perfectionist in his own [right]," Akon said.

"You feel confident working with him because he's not going to let nothing go undone. In a way, that's great. But sometimes you're anxious too, like, 'Man I can't wait to let everybody hear this.' Ultimately, working with Dre was just amazing. Dre is very picky about who he decides to work with too. For him to call me and do [multiple] tracks on the record and be involved in more than one record on that album, it said a lot. It shows how much he really appreciated what I'm doing."

  1. I hate to sound cynical... But I don't really want to hear more akon. When he says bomb diggy in kush... It slightly kills it for me lol. Akon def has a unique voice and when used in the right way... Sure he may actually make a song sound good. But I don't think he added the magic he could have to the kush record. What magic u may ask? Listen to any Nate dogg song... MAGIC. Now this part is unrelated and ppl will hate me for saying it but... Kendrick Lamar is probably gunna dissapoint. At least thts my guess. Lyrically he is cool and I understand dre wants to rep Compton. But his voice isn't tht appealing... Then again neither was lil waynes at first. I dunno... Kendrick... Bishop lamonte... Slim da mobster... None of these ppl are on the level of greatness as eminem was in his time. Dre needs a "drake"... 2 great ppl who would work... Clyde Carson and ya boy. I think a huge overshadowed factor of chronic 2001s success aside from obviously the great beats/ lyrics... Was the duo of em n dre. And for chronic it was snoop n dre. I kno I went way off subject but o well lol. Disagree all u want... I don't rly care nor take this personal. Just mah 2 cents lol. O also... Lyrically... Chronic 2001 has longevity. Drakes verses have meaning tht will sustain the test of time. I hope dre aims for this approach. Secret to ultimate hits is makin ur lyrics hold truth forever. And 1 thing Wayne does well is implement memorable lines aka what's a goon to a goblin or ema we could start at the penis... Etc. MemorableS r also good. All in all I just wasted my time typing this cuz it's too late to redo all this shit for detox. He chose who he chose.

  2. I think Detox has the club synth feel to it because it may represent cleansing and reflecting on ones experience. inad does symbolize detox because it shows dre's legacy.

Also many listeners are upset with chillin and mr. prescription but keep in mind:
    1. leaks or the version leaked arent on detox
    2. unfinished/not mixed (mixing can make or break a track)

these tracks were not even finished. but if you look at raje-therapy (prod. dr dre), it was a completed track. the beat is pretty tite. its not for detox but it shows that when dre finishes a beat for the public, its quality. this gave me some hope on detox.

As far as mr. prescription, if its ever completed and mixed I think it will be a banger.

  3. ^^ quite right. If u look at the poll on the right, the 'Therapy' track is getting a positive rating.

Here is another link to download the track:

  4. usman i agree BUT when i need a doc was leaked vs what was official realeased... not much changed. Dre removed the flanger, cleared up the beat a little for clarity purposes but i didnt see major differences. Dre didnt even give INAD tha traditional Dre hard bangin drums. SO BAM

  5. Fuck Akon. There are better hook singers than him.

  6. Akon is darker than the backgroud of this blog. Wow I can't believe I'm blogging... I think I'm going to go kill myself now... First world of Warcraft... Then trannie hookers. Now this. I'm headed down a destructive path, and DRE DETOX ME OF MY SINS!!!! :P

  7. Drake is supposably ghost writing for dre on detox so idk what your talking about lol..

    ReplyDelete
  8. Drake Along with every other artist ghost wrote a little and who knows if those songs even make the cut.... Majority is slim da mobster. Get ur facts straight... Slim apparently wrote snoop + dres verses for kush. So I don't know what u are talking about u moron

  9. Slim is a horrible writer... listen to the lyrics in kush. two thumbs down!!!

  10. Slim is the best. "tighter then the pants on william" is hilarious! Listen to the 1st verse on mr prescription. HEAT

  11. My Prediction:

April-no offical news of detox yet, but the INAD single is still buzzing in the radio.

May-we should have got the album by now, BUT eminem has just made a video for a upcoming single "Spacebound"

June-Spacebound single can uphold Detox for awhile, Just like last year Under Pressure was delayed because Not Afraid was released, and Recovery was released before detox.

July- Possible date for Detox, doubt it, maybe the red album would be released before Detox

  12. 1st verse on my prescription, fire??? ha what a moron you are if you think thats fire. You like britney spears also?

  13. "yes thats coke i laced it in every beat" -sick. That verse is killer. I like mr presciption alot minus the 2 nd verse. The beat is dope i think it works. That was the best of the club joints in my opinion. Too bad its a goner.

  18. "All in all I just wasted my time typing this cuz it's too late to redo all this shit for detox. He chose who he chose."

Are you joking? He's redone Detox at least twice already and has all the time in the world to redo it again if he really wanted to. Iovine can't do anything about it - look how much obscene money Dre pulls in for him already. Dre can do whatever the fuck he wants even if it's holding up everyone else's shit and driving Aftermath talent away - AND HE HAS ten million times over. Nobody else could get away with the shit under a major label like Dre has and he only does because he makes them a lot of money.

This album is already holding up The R.E.D. Album which is the same bullshit all over again. But trust me, Detox won't be coming anytime soon, Game will stay on board at Aftermath because he's loyal to Dre, and he will learn a hard lesson that others before him have learned: Dre will never do shit for you. If Game was a smarter man, he'd get Dre to finish the album and immediately ditch Aftermath, taking all those finished Dre-produced and Dre-mixed masters with him to a place that'll actually RELEASE the album. "Waiting for Detox to be released" is a sarcastic American English saying for "never, dumbass."

  19. june 6? i cant wait that long...

  20. If we don't get any news this coming week (4/20), i will give up on this album. This is a joke already.

I really hope the 4/20 thing mentioned by Dre means a new single and perhaps a release date...

I would love to hear that Dre, Game, Kendrick - Compton song

  21. I would love to hear a song from Detox that Dre actually made.

  22. Game isnt signed to aftermath in any way..

  23. Well its been real folks...I have been a loyal contributor on this site for quites some time and really appreciate the work that Uzxee does in putting this blog out there for the fans. With that being said, I am done with this album. I did have a close date of 4/20 I was going to wait for to eliminate any hope that Dre was going to put out a release date/album/whatever but I truly dont believe in him as an artist anymore. The great producers of all kinds of music would have a classic album in max 2 years...This isnt a strive for perfection anymore, it's a case of not beleiving in ones self and no confidence...I think that we would all agree that this album could have been released 10X over in the last 10 years. That is truly how many albums I think Dre has done over the years...problem is his ego is getting in the way of not only his music but other artists music as well.

Alot odf people have alot of good insight on this blog and for that I appreciate those who brought so much to the table over the years. I even appreciate some of the yahoo's like S because at least his comments kept me entertained ovber the last 6 months while we were getting dicked around by empty promises and bullshit from Dre's camp.

Anyway, It's time to move on and thought that I'd sign off one last time. I guess Im tired of being a sucker...it's as simple as that. I had to draw a line ....enough is aenough...I wasnt going to wait a few more days even though Ive waited 10 years for this album because I dont want to be fucked with anymore. No artists are worth this wait in delays and if you truly think that this album is than you have more problems than you think...The crazy thing is that in the last 10 years I have gotten married had 2 kids and alot has changed but I always stayed loyal..The problem is the loyalty was a one way street because its very evident that Dre doesn't think the same way about his fans.

Good day folks and I wish all of you on this blog the best...I'm done supporting something that is never coming and quite frankly i dont care if it does anymore.

    Peace and Thanks again Uzee...

JMac I hear where your coming from, you were one of the good ones and I always liked your comments. sad to say that I think most of us are steering in your direction. It has been frustrating and ridiculous that this album isnt out yet. i too have put the 4/20 date as the last straw...just hoping Dre dosen't dissapoint yet again or i too will be through

  26. We Are Going to Remind People

This is The Video Were Dr Dre Announced 4/20

Just Blaze Quote On Quote " you might see a unicorn this year too "
    we never did see both...........

  27. The album isn't coming on 4/20. Nothing is coming out from Dre on 4/20. I said long ago anyone hinging on that date hasn't followed Detox very long considering Dre has pulled this same bullshit ten times already. The day after the Blaze Twitvid, Dre's own rep shot down the 4/20 date and that was that. The video's punchline was Blaze's "You just might see a unicorn too!" yet everyone got hung up on Dre "announcing" Detox and missed the entire joke. You people are dumb. Dre will be "working" on Detox until it slips to 2012 and you will get hung up on at least a few more dates that will come and go between then and learn the same lesson I and others have had a long ass time ago.

I'd like to still care about Detox but nothing is happening and I care less and less about it as time goes on. Dre has zero clue what he's doing and has just been obviously playing around the studio, having half the entire industry "help" him, until something "clicks" (it hasn't) and he feels out something he can get behind and finish. If you guys want to wait for all that to happen, be my guest, but it won't happen anytime soon. If Dre was a smarter man, he would've shelved it by now. This album has no concept or focus. It's just going to be a compilation of Dr. Dre Presents Detox featuring tracks produced by everyone else, ghostwritten by everyone else, with every Dre verse about how he invented WC gangsta rap and/or he's a doctor. Fuck out of here with that.
