I NEED A DOCTOR and KUSH were just promotional singles for Detox! to create a buzz. alot of people release singles that arent gonna be on the album, remember Game released "Aint no doubt about it" "Shake" "Big Money" none of those ended up being on the RED Album
2. I don't believe all these 'buzz singles' these days. In my opinion, they are intended to be actual singles and when they don't get the intended reception are just written off as such. Game simply made a complete ass of himself for 2 years before delivering, none of it was intentional.
you fools, i need a doctor and kush were both leaked, but since it costed dre to get a beat from alex da kid and a collaberation from akon, he couldn't just throw them away, so he said they were detox singles to hype it up and them used their vidoes for commercials especially for his headphones, then eventually, as we all know, they wont be on detox, if there is a detox.
Big fan of dre aftermath the whole camp but they're shit just doesn't hit like it used to, honestly shows how much the grammys know about hip hop.. kanye tyler and lil wayne should be nominated just cuz they're shit was bumpin all yr long even If it was just a single. I need a doctor didn't get no play at parties or in my ride, so thumbs dwn!
"I Need A Doctor" is a great video to me. It's very emotional, and it looks great. It's just the songs that sucks. Girlie singin the hook with no soul or rawness makes the song very corny/poppy. And the fact that Dre didn't even co-produced his own song sucks a lot too.
INAD is not really a party song, I think it was more about dre's reintroduction to the music world. Kush is more of a party song and I personally think it's great.. hear that at parties every now and then and I play it still. I think that song should have been nominated.. although I couldn't give two shits about the grammys.
Kush was definitely on Detox when they thought it was being wrapped up, Dre's own words spelled that out at the time. It wasn't a "buzz" single on purpose, it just happened to leak and they pushed it out since it actually was a hot song and would've been a complete waste anyway. It would've thrown off the entire album if Dre wouldn't fuck with it anymore.
INAD is probably the same story. It leaked but it was too good to pass up so they pushed it out. The song rubs me the wrong way completely but whatever. Both joints were on Detox but after 2011 was flying by after the hinted February release date I figured that shit was canned anyway. Good.
I was also gonna say I couldn't give two shits about the Grammys but IMO the nomination is good and bad. Good: Dre is recognized and perhaps motivated by the news to get Detox put out feeling he isn't doing this for nothing. Bad: It's the exact wrong song that should be motivating Dre. I don't care who wins anything but if Dre does win for whatever reason, at least use the occasion to pump up Detox man.
When people say Aftermath faded out they forget it only takes one big album from there to throw it back on top. They're in the business to make classics, not to churn out as many successful albums as they can. Eminem brought it back to life and put it on top which set the stage for 2001 and MM LP to dominate. GRODT threw it back up top. The Documentary threw it back up top. If any album is going to do the same, it's gonna be Detox sons.

Yeah, if this wins Dre might think "fuck it, lets do all Detox tracks in this style. I'll ask Alex the Kid to produce a lot more songs for Detox".
