Kendrick Lamar to premier single? - featuring and produced by Dr Dre

“West Coast MC Kendrick Lamar is stepping it up a notch. After recently signing with Aftermath Records, the label’s CEO not only produced but will be featured on the newcomer’s next single. No title as of yet, but word is it’s set to premiere next week on L.A.’s popular station, Power 106. Kendrick is also said to be a surprise guest of Dre’s at Coachella this year, where the pair will perform the single live! Stay tuned to IFWT for the track, soon to come!”

  5. Hahaha oh man Mr. Chow you are a boss. I have a feeling that the plan is to get some fat buzz with this song for dre. If this becomes a hit, performing it at the biggest music festival will make dre golden in the runnings for promoting and releasing detox. Also if Kendrick blows up even more so from his cd and song, detox will be even more hyped

  6. Uzee let us type comments without your approval,it slows everything down. We supposedly are expecting news from now until summer time and this is the perfect place to talk about it.

U have to understand it from my perspective, all the crap/spam/fakers etc which flood in as soon as the doors open.

  9. Believe it when you hear or see it. That's the only way to go. Just like that iffy bullshit about a new Kendrick/Dre track being premiered last Thursday that never happened, you can't even trust Dre to put out something on time even if it is entirely legit because it's the way he is.

With that said, I sure hope we get this track put out this week because if there's something I'm actually anticipating, it's Kendrick's LP because I know it's coming one way or the other unlike Detox. We have to believe Dre is pouring a lot of effort into Kendrick's work because he's the future and Dre has passion in building up the new biggest artists even if he has none for anything else.

  10. Kendrick Lamar's album will be released before detox....FACT

actually i think dre will give the majority of his detox beats to lamar, just like he did in 03/04 to 50 and Game

  14. that's great news. IF dre has lost faith in detox, and this track is epic, maybe it can restore his confidence. or give him a boost or something. thats assuming he's probably scrapped detox. either way, i'll be happy with a kendrick album only

  15. I'm not even thinking much of Detox anymore. I'm almost done. At the same time, my anticipation has been replaced by Kendrick's debut LP because 1) I know it's coming, and 2) I know Dre is going to pour his backing into it. A hyped-up, confirmed Dre-produced and Dre-featured debut Kendrick single is good proof of this so I'm a bit excited. Section.80 was one of those fantastic, consistent albums from beginning to end and he's the future. Unlike Slim the Mobster, Kendrick stands on his own two feet, TDE has some amazing in-house producers, and is on top of his game with or without the Aftermath/Dre backing. Please god let this track get finished, put out, and let it ride on top of its hype than drown under it.

I'm halfway there in believing Detox will probably not come for a very long time if it ever does. It seems like, good or bad, Dre has pushed it aside for now so he can concentrate on Kendrick the same way he poured effort into names like Em, 50, and Game. Regardless if he has the heart to put Detox out and lay it on the line, we have a good idea that Dre still has that passion for propping up the guys of the future and blessing them with his touch. Kendrick's LP is something to get excited about because we know it's coming; we can't get that feeling from Detox because the longer we hear nothing about it, the stronger the chance is he'll never finish it.

  16. I don't think dre is producing Kendrick debut album. Or working on it. The single if its the rumored to be about Compton wasn't produced by Dr dre.

    1. jay electronicas shit is just like detox.. taking forever to come out. personally i cant wait for kendrick's, big k.r.i.t's, nas', andre 3000's, slaughterhouse's, black star's, and maybe 50 cent's new album. hopefully all of these, and detox, will come out this year.
