  2. I really dig the beat. out of all of the new artists Dre has worked with recently this gut sticks out the most. As we can all see Dre is hard at work perfecting Detox( just kidding ) Just would like to know what the hell the status of the album is. Just release something Dre related. What in the hell is going on over there at Aftermath. Was there anything Dre produced that was released in 2011. Hopefully 2012 will be the year. Release this Tito track. just something My headphones are going stale.

  5. The mixtape is the biggest marketing tool right now, cant everyone see Dre is setting up a mixtape to reintroduce himself to the world...He's obviously using southern rappers on the mixtape to gain southern young fans...This is a clever way to gain a younger audience, then release Detox..... 6. I agree with you f wise. A mixtape is a massive marketing tool and it would make complete sense if Dre dropped a mixtape. Dre has been very active this month. He has worked with: T.I, Nelly, Meek Mill, Tito Lopez, Joel Ortiz,Rick Ross, and the aftermath crew. It is clear to see that Dre has the motivation. I can definately see a mixtape being released before Detox. Dre has a massive amount of tracks recorded and it would just make sense.

However, like many of us i am concered the dre and snoop, (the godfathers of westcoast hip hop)are working with the fake, sellout AKA Rick Ross. Dre must really believe that he has the key or something. After ross dre has officially worked with everyone in the rap game.

I believe that one of the reasons dre is fucking with ross is to create attention to himself. The kids of today are mad about ross and young money. Everyone i know has respect for Dre but think hes old news. This is why he's fucking with these cats.

Overall, everyone should be positive for a 2012 release date, as the DOC said we might be able to celebrate soon!!! Sorry for the long ass post.

  7. To all the people saying dre is making a mixtape! get the fuck out of here! honestly dre doesnt need to make a mixtape to dig into the younger audience that doesnt know his name! the reason the young audience knows of his existence is because of the face when i see these 12-16 year old kids wearing beats headphones! trust me dre's name is known by everyone! they might not know who he is but they will definetely listen to his music due to the fact they are holding his headphones. just like how the headphones made noise and everyone wanted them even if they didnt know who dre was. same thing will happen with the album.
and if dre does drop a mixtape! thats the end of the world! a legend like dr.dre dropping a mixtape sounds so wrong in so many ways.

  8. Everyone has it all wrong and no one isthinking outside the box here. Detox is supposed to be a theatrical story line type of album, ever think maybe dres using these guys as characters in his story? I think he's probably trading production to feature them on detox as characters. It sounds like dre has all the beats done and is working on the final prodxtion of the album, adding final details etc. Thats the only reason i could think of him working with rick ross. Then again, who knows with dre, i swear he has adhd when it comes to finishing anything

  9. Have you been living under a rock Dan? The story-line concept of Detox was ditched back in 2004.

  10. I think Fwise might be right. If there is any region of rap in the United States that Dr. Dre is missing, it is the south. Working with T.I.(which is totally fine with me), Rick Ross, and this guy will get him noticed and back on top in the south, and then he will succesfully have all eys on him in all regions.

Also, I liked the beat in that video, but I don't think it was produced by Dr. Dre. It just soesn't have that Dre feeling and vibe to go along with it. I think when this guy releases his mixtape, there will be a different song than this one that will be produced by him, kind of like T.I.'s mixtape.

  12. No i havent bwash, i check this blog on a regular basis. How do you know what has been scrapped and kept for detox? Do you work for aftermath? Im simply giving some ideas that havent been mentioned. Detox has been a 10 year process, dre may have kept some original ideas. Detox is supposed to redefine hip hop, how do you suppose dre is going to accomplish that? By making a track with rick ross and some piano riffs? Open your mind, he's going to need an epic album with a story etc. At least thats what im hoping. You add no useful information to this blog, so instead of criticising peoples ideas maybe you should go to your room and think for awhile before you come and write something on this blog

  13. Dre never stated that anything was ever scrapped. I don't know where people come up with this bullshit. Especially the things that evryone else other than Dre himself has said concerning Detox

    1. what are you talking about? people that work with dre say that he scraps different versions of detox periodically.

  14. Stop acting so sensitive Dan. I know that the story line version of Detox has been scrapped because back in 2004-2005, before I had even discovered this blog, Bishop Lamont did a series of fairly publicized interviews confirming that they were no longer moving forward with that idea. Although the people working on Detox has changed over the years, not a single leak in the over 3 years worth of leaks we have heard has adhered to a story-line format. Not Topless, This Is Detox, Kush, Die Hard, Shit Popped Off, Under Pressure, or anything else. So given those facts, it makes no sense to assume Dre is making that type of concept album -- unless he has scrapped everything recently and started over again. But we've been given no evidence to think that's true.

  15. when will dr. dre stop fucking around and give us good music like this?

  16. If anyone truly believes Detox was never scrapped and redone, then they deserve in F in paying attention. There are literally too many facts, interviews, and logical conclusions to assume pretty damn confidently Dr. Dre has not been working on the same album, same material, and same concepts for ten years.

It isn't to say Dre threw away all the old ideas he ever brought up in public, because I think the ideas we don't know will end up defining the album. I believe Dre has concepts he hasn't shared because he wants to surprise people, and you can't redefine the game if you give away the game plan first.

It's true; we don't know shit, we don't mix or engineer the material, and we're not on the inside. But come on, Dre has scrapped and restarted Detox twice at the very, very least. Dre threw around the "hip-hop musical" idea when Detox was slated for '03 with the hitman storyline and Denzel narrations. This was when Mel-Man and Dre were making "hundreds" of beats before he went MIA in 2004. He could still use bits and pieces, scrapping material doesn't mean abandoning whole ideas, but we at least know this: Dre has stopped, started over, and redone the entire shit and changing things as he goes. Yeah Dre never said it himself but Dre barely says anything about his projects.

Kush was supposed to be on Detox from Dre's own mouth. That ain't on Detox. When Bishop used to be the Detox spokesman he already confirmed they had material and shelved it because it wasn't coming together the way Dre wanted. Snoop said it was done in '08. Slim said it was done in '10. Under Pressure leaked and we know that was set to be the first single. Like Bwash said, where is the original concept of a hip-hop musical in all the material that's come out? Nowhere because he probably moved on. Denzel was supposed to narrate it but obviously he passed it to Game's last LP. Common sense shit here, folks.
