  18. Wikipedia has removed "Bad Dreams" from the confirmed tracks list

    ReplyDelete
  19. ^not surprised as it came from a detox track list from back in December 2010.

The track list had no source either, could have been just a fan making track lists as we know the guests now.

  20. Detox will be here by May if not sooner if it leaks

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yea I think May

  22. You guys thinking Detox is ready to come any time now must not have been following this for very long. I've been on the lookout for Detox since forever, years upon years, and trust me, it's been a perpetuating chain of bullshit - empty hype, reneged promises, release dates that never happen, and then long lulls of silence about it. Never ends but that's what makes the legend of Detox interesting.

Dre and Iovine said "Under Pressure" was coming in a couple weeks that one time and then when a month (or so) passed, nothing, then it leaked, and Dre bitched about how completely unfinished it was when everyone thought "two weeks" meant that shit was done and ready.

But who knows, maybe Dre is finally ready to drop it soon, I mean you would think (as I did) that Kush getting pushed out (even after it leaked!) as a hype single and then INAD meant it was close to at least an officially announced date... but still no word, no release date, and now we're back to no official word or news about anything new. We thought the end of 2010 but nothing. Everyone heard February, came and went without a word. The official Beats by Dre website flashed "Album Available April 1" then got taken down. Dre shouted "4/20 baby! I'm coming!" on Just Blaze's Twitter and Dre's rep shot down that release date for Detox because there is no date.

If you've only been hyped on Detox for a few months then get used to that. Shit is nothing new but I'm hoping we see it by the end of April, trust me, it's just I have zero faith in Dre actually getting around to finish anything. Ask all the former Aftermath artists, especially Hittman who was on Dre's 2001 more than Dre himself, who ended up in purgatory when Dre was supposed to produce their albums and shit but never got around to anything even when he let years pass by. But that's the fun of Detox, it's legendary because we're expecting to hear the audible return of Jesus, and it always seems like we're closer everyday to it, but you can never catch the carrot in front of you.

  23. i remember when chronic2001 came out,it was rumored to drop(ad in the source that said coming soon) but there was no official release date, the still dre video had just aired i think, i remember i walked into HMV and to my shock/suprise i saw it sitting on the shelf...maybe this will just land in stores in may with little notice of the release date...

    ReplyDelete
  24. ^^ Well fucking said...the guy who posted two ahead of me completely gets it.....DETOX IS NEVER COMING anytime soon.......its one big game that never ends.....

    and still we follow.....

"Matt damon once said in the movie rounders "If you can't spot the sucker at the table then you must be the sucker"

Sad to say but mabye we are.......

  25. Good post 3 above. I have to say things haven't really been taking off well at Aftermath. Releasing only one album a year(recovery) I do have to say things are changing with the music industry with all of the illegal downloads piracy issues. Although a little disappointed that we never got official releases from Stat,Rakim,Hittman,Bishop Lamont, Eve neither of them would probably surpassed the sales of 50 cent's recent flop. I think that there is just not much for Dre to work with that would pay off. I understand from a business standpoint. Dre 's albums include a cast that fit right in but but would not be able to move units (Eminem as the exception) as a solo project. Dre needs to find new talent hopefully to jumpstart this label wether it be hip hop r/b pop. He has the ingredients. Hopefully some new talent will be exposed through Detox. I think he did the right thing by releaseing these other artistd . I know it does suck having to wait hopefully Dre Hip Hop needs this album soon. Dre will come Uzee/Guys any feedback would be appreciated PEACE OUT

  26. as the days go by without release date, starting to wonder if we will see it at all

    so close yet so far

    ReplyDelete
  27. It will never live up to expectations....the more he waits the worse it gets...

Sad to say that the best producer of all time is tarnishing his legacy but it's true......

    ReplyDelete
  28. Don't you ever forget this DRE IS GONNA PROVE YOU WRONG !

    ReplyDelete
  29. God, remember how detox was mentioned in Encore(2004) and The Documentary (2005). Just face it, this shit is never coming out.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Man the dre needs to show some respect to the D.O.C. and start working with him again. I need a doctor was straight trash. And besides wtf happened to eminem, he is a completely different person. Em never laughs anymore he raps so much worse now, like a different flow everything. Marshall go back on drugs.

Hint: Detox will sound like, a evil gangster version of retro 80's video game synths
    Clue: 1:30 INAD video

    ReplyDelete
  32. Dre already proved everyone right by never announcing or sticking to a Detox date even after his "huge" INAD single dropped and he performed it at the Grammys. It's a joke. It's just one album - it isn't about "perfection", which is bullshit, it's about something else. The stupid thing is Dre could easily deliver with Detox but he's too afraid of his own shadow and has an infantile dependency on other talent to do most of the work for him to ever get around to that. If you think Detox is just unfinished and he's tweaking it then you're wrong. It's been done. He could probably release ten Detox's next Tuesday if he felt like it. Believe that shit.

"2001" only got done and delivered within a few years because Dre and Aftermath were riding high on Eminem and the meteoric mainstream rise of rap and hip-hop at the time. This isn't 1999 and Dre has nothing else to stand on except the impossible hype of his own album which is his fault for hyping an album almost a decade ago he now says he only felt obligated to do before. He probably feels his legacy is resting on it and my feeling is that he's too scared to put it out because he wants to please everyone's expectations by releasing next-level shit that can also go multi-platinum. But Dre should just be Dre, stop the pretentiousness, stop listening to Iovine, stop pretending anything else matters, put out "Detox" the way Dre likes it and move the fuck on. It's never going to be perfect and people will still criticize, but this hype has fed expectations so much it's impossible to live up to them. Also remember this: it's just one album. It'll be good, probably great, but it's never going to be perfect or worth waiting this long.

I have no idea what it can take for Dre to just put it out, but he's obviously waiting for something. INAD wasn't it. At this point I don't expect Detox even this year. At the same time, life moves on, with or without Detox. I just wish he'd put it out so he and his fans can move on to new shit too.

    ReplyDelete
  33. yeah i a think u have made some good points...up untill i thought he was just looking for a big single,he got that with the awful INAD, commercially a success but critically it was panned by fans and critics alike.

seems that Dre wants to straddle both camps, he wants a commercial hit + acceptance/critical praise, INAD satisfied the commercial requirement but failed to satisy his fanbase as a result no release date

as he wont be able to combine the 2, detox will be shelved

    ReplyDelete
  34. I believe that as of now right now Detox is being tweeked and will be well worth the wait. You can see what albums sound like today when they are rushed ( 1/2 assed 1 or 2 hit garbage Dre is a producer and he is creating a banger. I find it very disappointing that a lot of you have lost faith in his work as an artist. Take another look at this man's resume If I have to I'll wait anothe year for DETOX. I don't believe it will be much longer but hey I'm a fan of Dre and I'll wait for how ever long it takes Chronic 2001 contained a couple of tracks that I really didn't care for (Ho a house wife, L.A. Niggaz, Fuck You did not get much play in my ride and were not considered by me to be Bangers. Cut Dre some slack for Kush and INAD( better songs)

    ReplyDelete
  35. ^ fuck you was one of my favorite tracks on 2001. Devin the Dude really broke through the mainstream on that song.

Also be on the lookout of Dj quik's book of david coming in april. ( Prob will be better then detox)

    ReplyDelete
  36. quik's single from book of david DESTROYS both of dre's singles from detox

    ReplyDelete
  37. It doesn't take this long to tweak an album that's supposedly done or almost done, even for Dre, because it's just one album and that's it. Obviously Dre had must have completed Detox once or twice a while ago and either scrapped it and/or gave some beats to 50 and Game's debut albums. We know that he gave the beat for "Shit Popped Off" to Amerie so it isn't out of the question. It was a while ago when Dre claimed he was only a couple songs away from completing Detox and from there a month of mixing and that would be it. It never happened - again. Does it take six months to do two songs? No. He did INAD at the Grammys with Eminem and released an expensive video with it, but what's the point of promoting a big single like that with no album coming anytime soon? Nobody understands what's holding it back.

It isn't the wait, it's the teasing, and that frustrates fans. Dre's been claiming something is almost there and ready to go and then letting those promises be proven to be total bullshit. It's been years of this. I don't think anyone is saying Dre can't deliver with Detox, we know if it ever sees the light of day that it's going to be banging, but we wonder if we'll ever see it or if he's just going to shelve it indefinitely for another year or two. I don't count on shit when it comes to Dre getting around to anything and neither should you. Ask Bishop how that went for him.

Kush and INAD weren't good enough to satisfy the hype for Detox, we know he has much better tracks and I know Kush wasn't meant to be a single, but it isn't comforting to people who expect Detox to be the next-level shit to save hip-hop with a mediocre song with Akon and the other a mainstream radio hit that Dre didn't even make and only had one verse on.

Thirded, DJ Quik is real shit to look out for next month, don't count on Detox to drop in April unless you have concrete evidence of Dre and Interscope both announcing an official release date. Anything else is bullshit and it's likely even Dre wouldn't keep his promise anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  38. SORRY BUT DJ QUICK'S CAREER CAN PRETTY MUCH BE COMPARED TO THE D.O.C. "ONE AND DONE" HIS NEW TRACK IS MORE RADIO FRIENDLY THAN I NEED A DOCTOR LIKE QUICK WAS A PRETTY DOPE PRODUCER IN HIS PRIME BUT THIS GANGSTER RAP SHIT HAS HIT A DEAD END NOTHING NEW SAM SNEAD IS TRYING TO DO THE SAME THING THEY FELL OFF QUICK WILL BE LUCKY IF THIS CD MOVES 50,000 UNITS I NEED A DOCTOR PASSED THAT IN A MATTER OF HOURS MAYBE DETOX IS MORE THAN JUST ANOTHER ALBUM SHIT'S GONNA HIT THE FAN

    ReplyDelete
  39. UZEE I'LL BE SIGNING OUT FOR A WHILE HOPE DETOX ARRIVES REAL SOON IN THE MEANTIME KEEP THE HOPE ALIVE YOUR NO.1
    FAN

    ReplyDelete
  40. Quik moved beyond "gangster rap" years ago, rythmalism by quik was not a "gangster rap" album, it was straight up funk, and a classic at that

quik wont have any emo shit either on his album like INAD

    ReplyDelete
  41. btw i dont care how much a record sells i just want it to be produced well

that is such a retard argument

no matter how many units INAD sold nothing can take away from how SHIT it is

    ReplyDelete
  42. ^^yes general record sells dont mean anything, it's the music and it's quality.

However, to get previous, current and new fans hooked into the core of Detox and it's upcoming quality tracks, they used INAD as a hook.

    ReplyDelete
  43. well im a previous fan and it didnt hook me

    ReplyDelete
  44. Wow...haven't been on in awhile at it seems like this site is in total turmoil.....

I guess I can't really disagree with the majority of the comments due to Dre once again making empty promises and not delivering as promised. I guess i need to review the news but i guess I dont understand why no release date to this point...If Dre wanted to make an impact what greater stage than the Grammy Awards where he was performing?? Oh well, I guess I am used to it at this point....I figured that he wouldnt deliver on the beginning of the year release promiose and not to bring everyone on here down but its very likely that this wont deliver by the end of the year either. I mean, his track record speaks for itself.....the sad part about all of this is nothing really has changed too much the last 10 years....he has wasted alot of talent....Stat Quo never materialized....Bishop Lamont never saw the light.....Slim the Mobster probably won't either....i finfd that rather dissapointing due to the fact that all of these artists were talented enough to make a nice impact at his label...

Folks, in my eyes this circus has gone on long enough....I would never diss on Dre because he made the music that has peaked all of our intrest in Blogs such as this one....But seriously when are all of the games going to stop.

Sigh....anyways i guess keep the faith people...because from the looks of things it appears to be running out....on this end as well....

*To hold you over if you haven't heard Raekwon's new album vs the Wu Tang Clan pick it uop NOW. ITS A GEM.

  45. ATLAST!!! Some real intelligent posts on this site. Last few post have been brilliant.

Some NON-STAR STRUCK Dr. Dre fans.
Real fans who have followed his productions closely.

Body language in people reveils everything.
And Andre Young is a nervous person when the Hip Hop Rapper facade is not on.

He needs to believe in what he's doing. But...INAD shows that this has been pushed aside. 'Jimmy in my ear' syndrome.

Who goes on holidyas with their label exec anyway?

    ReplyDelete
  46. to the guy above, Raekwon is straight trash. Only built for cuban linx is the most overrated rap album ever in my opinion. I have no clue why people think RZa is some goat producer???? It blows my mind how stupid people actually are.

  52. Whoever said that the new DJ Quik song "Luv Of My Life" is hot, is dead wrong...sounds boring, nothing really catchy about it at all...at least "Kush" was a pretty hot beat

    ReplyDelete
  53. Dre isn't infallible and let's face it: his greatest talent is hype and taking credit which he's done since forever. He's a dope producer in a sense that if Dre's hand is guiding something, the end result is going to be perfected and banging (if you know how to listen to music you know what I mean), but he doesn't do anything from scratch by himself. I don't mean to shit on him because I'm mad about Detox but I wish he gave a shit about his fans enough to be straight about it and not cocktease April Fool's dates or fake 4/20 declarations on Twitter videos to go viral. Then again nobody gets why he shits on D.O.C. or Warren G and cut them out from his success either.

Doesn't have to be your last album ever, Andre, put Detox out and release a sequel after it if you're tripping that hard about it. God knows you have enough material. If you're shelving it because you're not feeling it, then tell your fans you don't want to put something out you don't feel is right just yet and keep doing what you're doing. But stop being insecure and flaky by assuring everyone how excited you are that it's almost done then disappearing the fuck off the planet when the months come and go without a word. No respect and no sense. I bet this guy releases another expensive bullshit music video with 100 more product placements with no album in sight before we hear anything about it from his mouth again.

    ReplyDelete
  54. im turning my back on detox, i think dre isnt happy with the result of INAD (from the fans perspective-no one likes the song) and that is why everything in relation to the album has quietened down

dre isnt working (or listening to) The DOC/MelMan/Mike Elzondo, these guys were the principle contributors to chronic 1 and 2/EFIL4ZAGGIN etc
It is only with this team that he can create that classic "dre" sound

instead he is listening to Jimmy Iovine and Alex Da Kid..even if the album does come out it will be shit because of this.

    ReplyDelete
  55. ^Never thought I'd say this but I am turning my back as well...this has carried on far too long....NO ALBUM IS WORTH THIS BULLSHIT. Half of the people on here is letting it consume their lives....Unless it comes with a blank check, you can't justify the constant delays....Lets move on and get on with our lives.....

    Sincerely,

    An Ex-Dre Fan

  56. im really pissed the everything has quited down, which makes me think no detox really ,normally when asingle is out ,you know when the album is out, but with detox 2 singles out but no detox release date , come on dre its not paradise tickets lets us fucking hear what you were PERFECTING THE LAST 10 YEARS i mean everybody says your perfectionist let us hear it

  61. Dr. Dre always take credit from other people. Its a well known FACT Daz Dillinger did a hell of a lot producing on The Chronic and Doggystyle and Dre pretty much said he was a lier. To me Warren G is just as good of a producer.

But to be honest I dont think Dre has fallen too hard. He produced every song on relapse besides beautiful. Relapse had some really nice beats. ( side note: Relapse was 10x better then recovery wtf eminem)

  70. "dre isnt working (or listening to) The DOC/MelMan/Mike Elzondo, these guys were the principle contributors to chronic 1 and 2/EFIL4ZAGGIN etc
It is only with this team that he can create that classic "dre" sound"

This is straight truth. We do know those three did contribute a good chunk of shit on Detox already but they're not around anymore and haven't been for a while. Wonder why... at least Mel-Man got credit for 2001 as co-producer equal with Dre but I never felt Mike got his due, and god knows D.O.C. has been an influential hidden hand behind Dre's shit since forever and beyond a few mentions in songs, he never truly got the credit he deserves - and he's a legend. It's not a secret D.O.C. completely severed (professional) ties with Dre because of the way he felt about getting cut out of Dre's success and cut out of the credit. That's a big loss for us as fans too since D.O.C. was right there behind the scenes with Dre giving us all that classic shit.

That's why I also mentioned Warren G, dude is an OG of the G-funk sound, even Dre's own stepbrother, and all Dre told him back in the day (when Nate and Snoop got signed and Warren was left out) was to "be your own man". The fuck is that? Warren G did do his own thing, Regulators with Nate is classic shit, but it makes you really wonder why Dre almost like, kept him out of the loop and success Snoop and Nate were given. I wouldn't have minded to hear Warren G on a track on Dre's last album just for nostalgia's sake, and even today Warren doesn't even know why Dre doesn't invite him to do tracks together all these years later. That's another topic though.

But back to the point, it's plain true, D.O.C., Elizondo, and Mel-Man are the biggest contributors and principles behind Dre's sound because they're the ones that were writing it for Dre or the ones writing it right next to Dre for years. Without them, and replacing their input and experience with someone like Alex da Kid, really makes me wonder if that's why Dre can't close the sale with Detox and put it out. It makes me think Dre isn't satisfied with Detox the way he could do a classic like 2001 within a couple years and put it out because he did have Mel-Man, Mike, and D.O.C. in the studio developing, writing, producing, and playing everything with Dre - and they're not around this time. DJ Khalil or those other in-house producers are tight or someone like DJ Quik that has been around, but they can't replace the three who are as responsible for Dre's sound, if not even more so, than Dre himself.

I don't know if it's one person pretending to be others trashing Dre but I wouldn't count him out yet and act like we should all turn our backs on everything he's done. You can only get that mad if you expect Dre to do anything and you just can't. He takes forever to do anything, he calls it "perfection", but no single-disc album is worth this long no matter how perfect you say it is, until you put it out and let the fans decide if it was worth it. He's let Hittman, Stat, Bishop, and god knows how many others in Aftermath purgatory evaporate without a trace who were expected to hit it big by taking forever to get anything done. We know he's working on it but if Detox isn't good enough for Dre yet, then you're not gonna hear it. All I'm saying is I wish he was straight with the fans about it and not making empty promises or creating hype that gets everyone excited for nothing. But don't count Dre or Detox out yet. Just don't expect shit from him. And have low expectations if you ever do hear Detox someday.

  71. i dont understand how retards can say nobody likes INAD... it has like 20mill+ views on youtube and 120000+likes on it and its been on there for like 9 days or some shit?... dunno about you guys but i aint ever seen a song with more than 40000 likes on youtube.

on another note in your 10 years of waiting did you ever hear a single? cus i sure as fuck didnt. oh but wait he said its coming april and theres 2 singles out? shit looks like its actually coming this time. INAD isn't trash eitheir its a song eminem made for dre im not so much a fan of it, but its Dre basically warning dumb fucks hes coming full force. if he put out a song 10 years later with just him, who the fuck is going to hear it? just the die hard fans... when i was 12 it was dre/50/em/game/cube/snoop all the legends. ask a 12 year old today what they listen to youll get justin cocklick/lady gaylover/auto-tune pain/auto-fagwayne/drake the woman. see the difference? eminem made the song for dre so people know who he is... not that hard otunderstand honestly.

  73. Doesn't matter if Eminem made it or not, it's still a mediocre song at best and just not very good. Since fans have been waiting a long time for Detox, which is supposedly been crafted into perfection and up to Dre's high standards, they expect something better than a mediocre radio hit written by a pop producer. It's just not very good. YouTube views and likes don't mean anything either. If you want to measure how good something is by popularity or sales, then "Candle in the Wind" by Elton John is the greatest single of all time.

Yes. We get it. It's about Dre declaring that he's coming one last time and Eminem declaring his feelings for him (again). Does it make the song even halfway decent? No and not in my opinion either. That's why the track isn't the "huge hit" Alex da Kid predicted it would be, and it's purpose was obviously to get on the radio and get Eminem fans attracted to Dre.

Nobody said Dre had nothing to do with Kush, it's just that some people here aren't aware Dre doesn't actually do anything from scratch, and expected all or most of Detox's tracks to be "produced by Dr. Dre". It wasn't news that Kush sounded different from Khalil's mix after Dre mixed it himself, the Kush vinyl jacket says "Mixed by Dr. Dre" which should tell anyone the doctor is giving you his finished product regardless if it was his song or not. But it's still Khalil's song whether Dre touched it up or not. Nobody is saying shit about it anymore anyway because Kush is old news and although I thought it was an alright party track, I expected something better to make the cut on Detox.

Fans have a right to complain about Dre because no album is worth this long or this many eternal delays, and fans feel shit on when they are teased with empty promises or "it's almost done" bullshit and then an indefinite silence. Dre may have said it's "coming" in April but the day after he said that on Just Blaze's Twitter, Dre's own rep shot it down the next day. As far as you or anyone knows, Detox has no release date and it never did. If you think it's coming next month without a single word or hype when we're halfway into March, then welcome to waiting for Detox. You must be new here.

  79. lol if Dr. Dre could play Bass Guitar, and the Drums, then he would make his own beats...he's a producer, a composer, and I'm pretty sure Dre didn't just take credit for Kush, Khalil would've let him.
