Beyonce and Jay-Z are reportedly set to duet on Dr. Dre's new album 'Detox'.
According to The Sun, Jay-Z and Dre have already started work on the song their pair will record together, with the long-awaited 'Detox' finally expected to be released in 2011.
The newspaper quotes an anonymous source as saying: "Jay and Dre have recorded their verses with the chorus left open for Beyonce to sing."
If the duet is completed it will be the first time Beyonce and Jay-Z, who are married, would have recorded together since 2007.

Hope we will not see detox like this :(
i dont know how people got the idea that justin bieber is going to be on detox, he will not be on it... and it could be much worse then beyonce, she at least has a good voice.
ReplyDeletegod help us...beyonce
ReplyDeletedetox will be awful, commercial chart wackness
kush (with the fake nate dogg hook) should be taken off detox as a mark of respect for nate dogg
ReplyDelete"all the single ladies"
ReplyDeleteDetox has lost it's luster....sad but true...
ReplyDeleteCan't believe I have wasted all this time waiting for this pile of fuck
guys for fucks sake beyonce is not as bad as other faggots yes i would like death row sound but dre wants to work with some new people and its just the chorus anyway
ReplyDeletebeyonce is fuckin hardly new, and she is shit
ReplyDeleteback when chronic2001 came out they dissed the commercial/pop stars of that time and would never have dreamed of collaborating with them
funny how things change isnt it
I think were all missing the real issue...Dre and jayz just started this recording...and Beyonce still has to lay her tracks on it!!!!!????? R u fucking kidding me!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNewsflash folks:

ReplyDeletechronic 1 and 2 featured new and underground artists, thats what made them classic
ReplyDeletedetox is consisting of the likes of Beyonce/Rihanna/Lady gaga etc
this is gonna be like a Top 40 Pop compilation
i know but tthen dre will take another 10 years making it sound different lol i'm not really sure i'm getting it anyway
ReplyDeleteNew names for Detox: Sellouttox, Cornytox, Corntox, Poppytox.
ReplyDeleteDrefan since 91
i would replace nate dogg any day..im sure dre has some vocals from him...he should use them
ReplyDeleteits not detox anymore, its cheap take away from your local corner shop
ReplyDeleteDre shoved Nate off over the years. That one record he did for him on Nates 'Music & Me' was horrible. Production was terrible.
ReplyDeleteNate wasn't happy with Dre. Interviews tell you that. Nate dogg was an important part of Deathrow Records rise. Then when Dre had a chance on his own, Dre put Nate on the backburner just like the rest.
If he's on their, it's now due to the tragic circumstances.
What do expect for Detox now? More delays blamed on some going to honor Nate Dogg type shit, lolipop tracks with lolipop producers.
One word.... Jimmy.
yup
ReplyDeleteputs on NWA Efil4zaggin
you guys are all faggots beyonce isint horrible she is actually good at singin
ReplyDeleteplus who said justin beiber was gonna be on detox? we saw him and dre together but only for the justbeats or whatever they are called. i dont know why you guys cant just trust dre. Its not the 90's guys, and maybe the featuring artist might sound a little weird but dre is gonna come out with some bumpbin shit i guarantee it. Detox is going to be a huge succes and all of those who doubt dre, will just come crwaling back and buy the entire album.
Nothing was stopping Dre from producing Detox to be the best West Coast rap album he can put out, to have it be Dre bringing the West Coast back with some perfectly produced hard shit with the same guys (and new dudes like Kendrick Lamar) - the guys that made The Chronic and 2001 classics. It isn't all just Dre. Dre can make classics and he can make another one like his last album. I know Nate was out of commission since late '07 but Dre has been doing Detox for years before Nate had his stroke, but instead, he somehow finds this one motherfucker in LA to sing on Kush pretending to be Nate. I simply won't believe it if Detox is out and there's no Nate vocals on it. That's some whack shit if true and it's not cause he's passed away, it's because it isn't a real Dre album without him. Nate is a WC legend the same way Snoop belongs on a Dre album.
ReplyDeleteWhy put so many people on Detox but leave out Warren G? The leaks we've heard that were hot (imo) were done by Khalil too. I guess I'm kind of an unrealistic idealist, but I always thought no one could touch Detox if it was made to be real WC shit for the sake of pleasing the fans and being the game changer for the future of how hip-hop is made and produced, not for the sake of what Iovine thinks will sell and what Dre thought would be getting play on the radio or selling a lot of ringtones. Classics are beyond a chart ranking or how many you sell.
I mean I'm not going to hate on it before I hear it, but I gotta tell you I'm the most skeptical I've been about this album than I've ever been. I've been hyped on Detox for years because I thought Dre was going to go all out and put out another classic people would be bumping for a long time. I don't know if it's because Iovine is executive producing it, I don't know if it's because Dre just can't close the sale and be happy with the final product, and I don't know if it's because he's distracted with other shit. But Dre has set the bar twice with two albums and coming close to a decade for one last one would have us reasonably expect something that's worth the wait. I mean it's Dre. I don't even know if it's coming out in the next few months (doubtful), or ever, but I need some assurance it's still worth giving a shit and waiting, waiting, waiting. I don't need more INAD or Beyonce.
All I'm saying is I just wish Dre did Detox for the WC instead of doing it for Iovine or iTunes. Still hoping, but not totally believing yet.
Detox has no release date yet?? I heard 4/20!!! We've been waiting for years, where is this album???
ReplyDeleteim sure dr dre was planning to have nate dogg on the album :/
ReplyDeletecheck out the interview at the 2:25

Rumor has it that its Under Pressure
ReplyDeletefuck guys you need to hear it before you judge
ReplyDeletedre has always been game changer...so never...ever...ever...ever....question dr dre,s credibility..he will do it again..although the album is not gona sound like the last two at all..its gona be a pop album...just wait guys dont judge
ReplyDeletehow can a pop album be a game changer?
ReplyDeletei think dr dre is tryimg to mix some established pop artist like jay z, beyounce etc with some underground hardcore rappers like slim the mobsta, kendra kendrik, jay rock on his album. something for everybody. wheather it will work? only time will tell.
ReplyDeleteyou guys need to relax. beyonce has alot fans worldwide and jay z is consider to be the best rapper of all time, this song can be bigger than INAD
ReplyDeletethats the whole problem, why is he chasing a top ten hit????
ReplyDeleteso what if the song is bigger than INAD that doesnt mean it will be any good!
uzee commercials sales dont equal quality
what does beyonce have to do with gangsta rap?
ReplyDeletewether she is famous is irelevant, and slim the mobsta is not going to drop an album soon he will be dropped just like a lot off incredible mcs before him
People who are saying detox is going to be completely different from his last two albums are totally right. But 2001 sounded way different than the chronic. Not many artists of any genre will release 3 albums that have identical sounds. Detox will feature more mainstream and pop artists but it will still be a rap album, eminem is probably the most mainstream rapper in the world but I don't hear people talking shit about him. If you are still coming here and commenting on this blog evertime there is a new post it is clear that you are still interested in hearing the album so stop saying it will be shit.
ReplyDeletei wont be dissapointed if eminem is not on detox ...i am a day 1 em fan but the truth is he lost talent..replace em with j cole
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Dr. Dre is following this blog. :D
ReplyDeletewell if he is, he sure isnt listening to the majority here....
ReplyDeleteyou guys are all so ignorant most of you just go with what other people think. INAD was not bad it was an emotional song on how he has been in a coma and is coming back we have heard two songs officially and your all doubting Dre. He is gonna come out with something non of us would have guessed.
ReplyDeletelol...you people ae a joke.....you dont know anything about westcoast rap....this album is not coming out< and if it does it will SUCK
ReplyDeleteUzee said... "this song can be bigger than INAD"
ReplyDeleteINAD wasn't that big at all unless I'm missing something, nor was even that good. It performed as well as anyone expects a Dre/Eminem duet to do, especially with that kind of Grammy performance exposure, but it wasn't the "huge hit" Alex predicted it would be. Besides, why does Dre need to go for "big"? I'm not saying Beyonce can't contribute some good on Detox, but that's not really the point. We know Dre is the authority when it comes to mixing, especially when it's for radio, and can do pop tracks, but I want to hear some real shit for this album. Shit that's on another level and does something new. That's what Dre does, that's what Dre is expected to do. Do Beyonce pop shit outside of Detox. This whole idea of a Jay-Z/Beyonce duet just comes across as really gimmicky more than anything, and I bet it'll be promoted as a single because of it. This isn't making the fans happy though, especially the ones that have been waiting this long expecting to hear underground-oriented WC shit. If Slim wrote 70% of this album like he said (which I still doubt) then it should be, right? He's not bad and if he did write a lot of Detox, then one can assume it's going to be WC underground and gangsta-oriented.
There's no doubt Detox is going to have some banging shit on it but every time Dre or his camp leak something to test the waters and reaction, it hasn't gone that well. I thought "Could've Been You" was impressive (listen to that bass goddamn) with Slim on it but "Under Pressure" was just weirdly off-putting. I don't know a soul that liked it even a little bit. No idea what the fuck Dre was thinking with that record. When that leaked, especially when it was months after Dre said it'd be out in a couple weeks, I started to have some serious doubts about the way Dre was going with Detox.
Anyone whose been following this knows this entire album has been a gigantic mess and it still is. It seemed Dre was all about making a last great album called Detox except actually making music for it. Its own hype, which is Dre's fault, is going to hamper what could have just been Dre's last album without this stupid ass mythical legend behind its release and how long it took to get there. And the thing is nothing has worked Dre has expected it to because the songs he puts out just don't cut it nor get the reaction he wants. The closest was "Kush" (I like it) but it's not enough either. Is this the best Dre can do, seriously? Holy shit please tell me you have way better joints for Detox. I know Iovine and Dre are just assuming once they finish the album and announce a date that everyone will jump on board (they're right) and forget how muddled and stupid this whole journey has been, but the overblown hype isn't going to help when people realize it really wasn't worth waiting 6-7 years of bullshit.
Sorry for the long post, just felt like getting my thoughts out. I shit on this album and Dre a lot, but I do it because I love Dre and think he does the best production so I want it to be worth it, I want Detox to succeed musically. If Detox just isn't that great or the direction went a way I don't like, then nothing in this world makes sense. Without Mel-Man, Elizondo, or D.O.C behind him in the studio, I really wonder what's going on, but I still have faith Dre will give us what we want.
what kind of 90's west coast rapper dre get on detox? well a lot are dead or havent been heard from in years, oh ya and theres ice cube but wait hes to buisy acting like a goof in his cheesy movies to pick up a mic... this is why dre is bringong in all of these mainstreem pop artists.
ReplyDeleteNews flash...DRE IS DEAD
ReplyDeleteI didnt comment today, someone is bored and is trying to impersonate me.
ReplyDeleteAll i gotta say is that the confirmed artists for Detox were announced a while ago, and it included both jay-z and beyonce.
A while ago the confirmed artists were: Eminem, Snoop, Akon, Jay-Z, La Roux, Game, Slim, Liz Rodriguez (is that Skylar Grey?), and then Kendrick Lamar was included later. This new article is the only indication Beyonce would be on Detox so it's news to me. Nothing wrong with Beyonce but I think throwing her on a track with Jay-Z is more about selling a gimmick than making a hot record. $100 the Jay-Z/Beyonce song gets promoted as a Detox single.
ReplyDeleteAlso I have no idea why anyone thinks Detox is coming on April 20. It's not. We're already past mid-March without a word, without hype, without any date, without any single or hint of one. That shit was disproven less than a day that stupid video of Dre shouting "4/20 baby!" on Just Blaze's Twitter got posted. The real message of that video was when Blaze added "You just might see a unicorn too!" which is what most people ignored. Nobody knows when Detox is coming. Dre is obviously still recording and mixing new records for it. I just wish he'd leak something new for us.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1656142/dr-dres-detox-not-due-april-20-rep.jhtml

this album got me by the balls to..if the album was coming in april it would have leaked by now
ReplyDeleteGreat Post above (the long one-9 up)
ReplyDeletesums up exactly how i feel about this project
For those that dont know this must be the track that sir jinx did the beat for. He said Jay and Dre were both on it and that someone like R Kelly or Beyonce could be jumping in on it. My thoughts is we wont hear detox until he has a number 1 record in the charts. Its sad to say but thats the modern age, alot of my homeboys have been bumping Dre since all the way back in the day and now we got kids and shit, my point is that alot of dre's older fans will download the album for free, so he gotta tap into the charts now else he wont go quadruple platinum like dre albums do
ReplyDeleteOk anyone here BUYING it or downloading it
ReplyDeleteThis site is the WORST and the slowest. Here is the link to the new leak from Detox. Dre feat swiss beatz.
ReplyDeletehttp://hulkshare.com/sd5dbugt93h4#
I'm downloading it first, buying a copy if it's the classic we all expect. Not buying this shit if it fails me and ruins my faith in Dre because I'm expecting the classic that Dre promised. If it's not a classic, he doesn't need my money and he failed.
ReplyDeleteNobody buying albums without knowing if artists and producers did their part making it worth the money, but people will buy it if it's good. These cocksucking RIAA record executives like Iovine can't cope with the fact that they don't own music anymore, and if we buy their music, it's because we decided we wanted to out of respect. So make it good Dre. If it's not a classic, you better put Eminem on every track and market it that way instead.
They hype on this project is dying with the more singles that come out.
ReplyDeletefuck im high listening to this wack as shit !!!! wat the fuck this nigga is tripping R.I.P WEST COAST THIS SHIT IS WACK DRE !!!
ReplyDeleteI just want Dre to keep it Westcoast!!! keep swizz beatz and too many of them Eastcoast niggaz off Detox Jay-z and Nas and jada tops! Keep the shit WC! Its ok 2 switch it up and throw Beyonce on the album just make her sing some Gangsta shit dont go pop! Detox is just too over hyped and the fans been waiting so long they becoming impatient and some becoming haters! I hope the album be ok I know it will never be like the first two albums cuz hip-hop is dead now but the few tracks I heard leaked was ok like "Topless" with ti and Nas! "OG theme" Ludacris "Shit popped off" Ti INAD was a big disappointed commercial garbage! Kush was good but was missing Nate dogg No akon WTF?? Now that its getting closer to a release date dre is fighting to put the finishing touches on the album! If I could give him any advice just make good music and dont focus on trying to sell records or what u think the fans wanna hear! the fans will know and not buy the shit just stay true to the westcoast sound and make that shit a double disk for this long ass wait!! Dr Dre just need to drop something for the gangstaz and weed smokers and it will sell! I just hope he dont disappoint us or it will be the nail in the coffin for hip-hop(SERIOUSLY)DAMN I WISH 2PAC WAS ALIVE!!!
