Detox postponed to May 9??

I would just treat this as a rumour - Uzee
----------------------------------------------------
The output of: Detox, the highly anticipated new album from Dr. Dre has been postponed to May 9, 2011. Doc had yet posted a video confirming the date of April 20 but it will obviously not ready in time. In recent days, the superproducer highlights a new title Detox, "Chillin 'in duo with Swizz Beatz. Despite this small delay of two weeks, it seems that Dr. has finally decided to release his new album ....

The album had already suffered a postponement "unofficial" two months since the album was recorded in February 21 on the schedule sent out by Polydor / Universal, which distributes the label release Aftermath (Eminem, 50 Cent) in France. The date was not harmless, release albums have held on Monday and 21 is the one who approaches the anniversary of Doc. Andre "Dr. Dre" Young was in fact born on February 18. One more reason not to delay the release of Detox.

Dre enlists help of Curators for website

Dr. Dre's 'Detox' -- arguably the most anticipated album of all time, next to Guns N' Roses 'Chinese Democracy' -- is one step closer to seeing the light of day. With Dre promising 'Detox' in stores on April 20, the good doctor relaunched his website -- DrDre.com -- in anticipation of his decade-in-the-works LP.

The website is Twitter-centric. Curators -- including Dr. Dre, 'The Big Payback' author Dan Charnas, his label Interscope and journalist Jerry Barrow -- will be pulling in #detox memes from Dre's fans and "Twitterati," the latter which already includes the likes of Questlove and Snoop Dogg.

Some of the first things up on the site's Twitter blog include a post by Dre, which encourages fans to donate to the Nate Dogg Memorial Trust, with all proceeds going to the late rap pioneer's family. There's also a behind-the-scenes look at Dr. Dre's 'I Need a Doctor' music video, where a stuntman totals a Ferrari Modena. The car's street value: a cool $100,000. Ballin'.

The website is still in its early stages. While it relaunched at the end of January, the interactive Twitter vehicle still has few users. To be apart of Dre's Twitterati, one must login via a social networking platform.

With 'Detox' being repeatedly delayed over the years, activity on his website is suggesting that all vital signs on the album's release this spring are good. So far Dre has released two official tracks from the album -- 'Kush' feat. Snoop Dogg and Akon and 'I Need a Doctor' feat. Skylar Grey and Eminem.

Dre and Swizz Beatz live (Video)

LAST NIGHT WAS SO EPIC. An unbelievavle night where Dre Dre actually came out of the studio with the newly wedded Swizz Beatz to relax and enjoy himself, play some exclusive music off his new album which many though would never come out and drink somes Tanqueray like he did back in the days at the Century Club. I’m telling you words can not express how last night went but hopefully you get an idea after viewing this exclusive video and checking out the photos.

So many to mention to sum up the night that were in the building and making the night complete like the Poolside fashion show, performances by Maino and The Rejectz, and celebrities like Meagan Good, Jerome Bettis Lil Mama, Black Wall Streets XO and a few video vixens with stank attitudes (lol Just kidding). The night was like an interactive concert with a whole lot of Patron, Grey Goose, Ace of Spades, Tanqueray and sexy women. I can’t wait to see what happens next week. Maybe *** Mummar Gaddafi and Osama Bin Laden will come out of hiding and show up and drink and get loose, who knows? LOL

Benzio and Busta Rhymes discuss 'Kush' single

Ex-owner of "The Source" magazine, slash rapper (?), Benzino recently spoke about Dr Dre's upcoming "Detox" album and why he isn't impressed by the first single.
"I'm not crazy about it, but it's aight, keep it 100," Zino said in an interview with Mikey T referring to Dre's "Kush" single. "At the end of the day, I know it's gonna be some sh*t on there that I am gonna be crazy over. Dre is one of the best to ever do it. Dre's one of the pioneers of producers. Dre goes in too. Dre really is one of the perfecters of his craft -- shout-out to the whole West Coast." ("Mikey T The Movie Star")
Former artist, on Dr Dre's Aftermath records, Busta Rhymes shared his reaction to Dre's "Kush" single.
"We always love a Dr. Dre project," Busta told SOHH about his anticipation for Detox. "We just want it to come out already. [As far as 'Kush'], I've heard better songs on the album, so I'm looking forward to it coming out. The 'Kush' record was cool but I know for a fact that he has some records on that album that are unbelievable." (SOHH)

Beyonce and Jay-Z are reportedly set to duet on Dr. Dre's new album 'Detox'.

According to The Sun, Jay-Z and Dre have already started work on the song their pair will record together, with the long-awaited 'Detox' finally expected to be released in 2011.

The newspaper quotes an anonymous source as saying: "Jay and Dre have recorded their verses with the chorus left open for Beyonce to sing."

If the duet is completed it will be the first time Beyonce and Jay-Z, who are married, would have recorded together since 2007.

Silence before the noise?

Firstly, the comments/discussions on this blog are about Dr Dre/Detox.  Any other comments outside this topic (including sports) have/will be deleted.  there are plenty of other communities where you can discuss other topics.

Yes, the dre/detox discussions have died down, that's because we have maybe discussed most things about detox thoroughly (thanks to the great, meaningful, lengthy comments/discussions), specifically the previous 2 releases from Dre.  I understand fans maybe dont want to discuss the same topics again and again, go round in circles.

Any meaningful topics about Dre are welcome.

DJ Khalil Tells All: Story Behind 'Kush' record

DJ Khalil: “I had this vocal of Kobe saying, ’Hold up, wait a minute.’ I had that line and I saved it for like a year because I knew it could be a dope club record for whoever. I remember I was in the studio and I was playing the vocals, and Dre was like, 'Yo, who is that?' I was like, ’That's Kobe.’ And he was like, 'Yo, that's a hit already.' So I just started making the beat around it. We recorded another hook before they put Akon on it, and another singer named Blackthoven did the bridge. So we had a bunch of parts to it and I sent it over to Dre. I still have the text in my phone where Dre was like, 'Yo, this ’Kush’ beat is incredible!' He was really excited about it because he knew it was just a good party record. I'm not really known for [party records], but that was my attempt for Dre. He just wanted a buzz single. So I worked on that for a minute. We tried so many hooks on that. That record went through so many stages.

“We actually sped it up because it was much slower [originally]. But Dre was like, 'We gotta speed the joint up.' I remember Dre invited me to the studio and he was like, 'Yo, I want you to come listen to the record.' So I listened to it and he gave me a copy of it. There was just so many things he added to it, I was like, ’Wow, it doesn't even sound like the record anymore.’ [Laughs.] I was so married to the original one. Dre and I never argue, but I was like, ’I don't know man about the new hi-hats. I don't know man. Maybe you should give me a shot at mixing it.’ He gave me a shot at mixing it, but we ended up going with his mix because he knows how to mix for radio. I don't really know how to do that, so I learned a really important lesson: Dr. Dre knows what he's doing. [Laughs.]

”I've been at Aftermath for so long, when Dre first signed me he was already talking about Detox. I was like, ’Detox? What is that?’ And he was like, 'That's my next album.' There's a lot of stuff they've recorded to. I've worked on a few and I don't even know how many [will make the album] because I'm out of the loop. I kinda pop up, give Dre music, and then vanish back into my cave again. That's why I try not to speak on the album, it's not my place. I don't know what he's gonna end up using [on the album], so I don't really wanna speak on that. I don't wanna give some information that might upset anybody, especially Dre. I'm from the West Coast and I'm one of Dre’s biggest fans. I own everything Dre's ever done, even his swap meet mixtapes. I have all that stuff. So to actually have his blessing on Detox and to be working with him on his album is insane to me.”

"I learned a really important lesson: Dr. Dre knows what he's doing."

Looks like Dre did have some involvement with this track afterall.

Kurupt reassures about Detox

In a recent interview with Montreality, West Coast veteran Kurupt sat down to discuss a slew of topics, including Dr. Dre's long-delayed Detox.

"It was a great experience working with Dr. Dre on the first Chronic, and especially [2001] because I was already established..." said Kurupt of his time working with the legendary producer.

"[Detox] is coming," assured Kurupt. "Dr. Dre is working real hard on it. There's a lot of good records on that album, but he keeps switchin' 'em up. Dr. Dre's a stickler for perfection. He's just trying to make it the best for his fans and everybody else."
