Snoop Dogg claims 'Detox' is "almost" ready for release.

The rapper - who was discovered by the record producer in 1992, and is a close friend and collaborator - "feels good" about the imminent release of the long delayed album, which Dre has been working on since 2003.

He told NME magazine: "I ain't never said it was almost finished. He might, but that's my first time I ever said it. I was always saying it was taking too long to get done. It feels good now.

"We've been working on it. It's almost finished. So that's coming out soon.

"We got Slim [Eminem] on it."

Dre has said 'Detox' will be his last album as an artist, and has so far released one preview single from it, 'I Need a Doctor', in February.

Snoop is also enjoying the current music scene in the UK.

  3. I Need A Doctor and Kush aren't singles off Detox. They were just songs Dre released to let the fans know he's coming. Snoop even said in a recent video that he's looking for that first single, the beat has to be crazy from the start before the drums even kick in. So hopefully they found that single by now so Dre can put out that first OFFICIAL single off of Detox.

  4. ^ alot of artists put out singles that aren't even going to be on the album. for example Game released "Big Money" "Ain't No Doubt About It"
"Shake" and they weren't on the album.

  5. Oh come on Snoop...

"That record is real it's coming," Snoop Dogg said during an interview today (June 25) on Big Boy's Neighborhood. "You know me, I was starting to doubt it myself and then I went up in there and he played so much music for me it knocked my head off." - Snoop, June 25, 2008 [http://allhiphop.com/stories/news/archive/2008/06/25/20225841.aspx]

Btw Slim the mobster's new song with snoop dogg called "what goes up" is dope!! First time i like Slims lyrics and understood he has potential. This song has the old snoop vibe! He and kendrick are dope!

  13. It's already October and there is nothing official so I wouldn't get your hopes up. Snoop has hyped up Detox before and said it was "done" in '08, like a lot of people have over the years, so this is far from anything new. It happens every year it seems and the months come and go without a word and new rumors pop up all over the place like clockwork.

Detox has been "almost finished" for years if you've waited around that long to notice so it confuses me why anyone is getting excited over nothing. I'm a Detox atheist, I have to see it to believe it now, and I have no more faith in anymore bullshit. After 6-7 years I'm done jumping up and down thinking it's coming any day now.

If they are in the"mixing"process, don't you think snoop could have said that they got the first single coming soon!? You can't be in the "mixing" process if you dont have the first single "mixed" as well. I know Dre has atleast one beat that will bang

  15. I hope their is a NWA reunion song on detox, mc ren,ice cube,dj yella and i hope they can sample some eazy e vocals that would be sick!!!!!!

  16. I don't think I want Detox anymore. Dre doesn't even have the inspiration to co produce his own songs nowadays. A Dre album not produced by Dre, now that would be fucked up.

    Drefan since 91

  17. nwa reunion? man that would s*** on every artist in the game right now!!

  18. An NWA reunion would probably just have Cube, Ren, and Snoop (who is an honorary member) and it would be dope if it was the final track of the album. I don't agree with any Eazy samplings or verses on it though, that's kind of tasteless and cheap. Remember after 2001 was released and Dre kept hinting at working on an NWA album? One joint on Detox would make up for it.

I'm usually not one that's for heavy features all over an album but since it's a Dre album, since he doesn't write his lyrics or even make his beats, I would imagine just about every Detox record will have at least one feature. Even so I would at least prefer Detox keep the features not all over the place but within the WC, some vets, some new guys, and Em is inevitable whether you want him or not. I would just prefer it if the OG's were on Detox like Warren G, Snoop, Kurupt, RBX, Daz, all those original guys there from the start, and throw on some of the new WC talent like Kendrick and keep it at that. Detox would work great if the concept was giving the guys who started this shit with Dre from The Chronic one more epic chance to breathe on some beats while presenting the future of the WC with MC's like Kendrick or the other Top Dawg talent. Nobody said a feature-heavy album had to have features from everyone and anyone. Of course any bullshit I wish for will never happen, and hoping Dre even finishes and releases Detox is already a longshot, but it's something to think about. I would rather have DOC rapping on a joint than Slim da Mobster or 50 Cent too.

  19. I'd like to see a song with Snoop, Em and Kendrick Lamar, and it cld be like a sibling rivalry kinda thing, bein as they got their shoe in the door with Dre
