  1. Uzee I know you are always about the posting of sources and such which is why you delete posts that usually just hype stuff. So with the above post "confirmed produced by Dre and Storch"...is there any truth to this? Have not seen this anywhere on the net? (source)?

  2. Sounds great in my opinion. Now to wait patiently for the CDQ...

  8. In the official site of dr.dre it says ''this is the next single from Detox'' .In Aftermathmusic says '' track is not the next single from Dr. Dre’s “Detox” :D I hope its not on the Detox because i know thy can do way better : ))

  9. good beat, good verse by dre but whats up with the hook? Em sounds so uninspiring and tired. No balls

  10. weak song, i give up on detox

  11. "Face it the fans, they been upset yep, patient, i love em for that.."

    ReplyDelete
  12. best out of what we heard so far, if dre's lookin for a banger for detox this should be released as the first single n the others be regarded as promo. actually happy with the beat of this one so far

    ReplyDelete
  13. According to http://www.eastexclusives.com/2011/05/06/dr-dre-ft-eminem-die-hard/, "Die Hard" is gonna be released on Itunes this Tuesday.

  14. finally a decent tune for detox... together with kush, it can be on detox... if they get rid of INAD I will buy two copies of the album :)

  17. Now that's what I'm talking about.....theres still hope. And if this is indeed the first official single to Detox then consider the release date announcement not to far behind...

  18. ^^ it is a good track, finally a released Detox track thaty really thumps. It's even better than Kush and I liked that one. It's on a par with Topless I'd say and that was a leak though S.

S you said it's produced by The Neptunes... Sounds like a Dre beat to me.

    ReplyDelete
  19. TOTALLY A DRE BEAT! AWSOME BEAT!
    HOPE DETOX COMING!

    ReplyDelete
  20. i hope they will oficially say who produced the beat and i honestly hope it's produced by dre.... or at least co-produced by him

    ReplyDelete
  21. Average track to me. On the same level as "Kush" to me. It's missing something that makes me go "Damn!" like his old productions.

    Drefan since 91

    ReplyDelete
  22. Why does it matter who produced it? The beat goes hard

    ReplyDelete
  23. all you idiots talking about the production credits...who cares? if it sounds dope, it sounds dope...i don't care if your little sister produced it!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Why does production matter??? because dre is the greatest producer of all time. young idiots on here.

    ReplyDelete
  25. "It's on a par with Topless"

That's a big stretch right there, buddy, "Die Hard" is merely okay in that it doesn't offend yet doesn't do much either. It's a very boring track which isn't a bad thing... it's just really forgettable. Pass. If this is all Dre can release then my expectations for Detox somehow found their way to be lower.

    ReplyDelete
  26. ^^^ you are the idiot:

judge a song by how it sounds, not by who produced it.

yes i understand dre is a great producer, but that does not diminish the quality of particular track just because he didn't produce it.

    what a moron!

    ReplyDelete
  27. how are you all judging this track when its very hard to even hear the full beat...

when is the full, cdq version coming out?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Seriously are you people THIS stupid? "Its missing something"??? REALLY? NO SHIT its not even half the song. I mean its a snippet of the damn thing. You hear 2 small dre verses and a hook. Seriously if you dont like the song thats one thing but dont say its not enough or its missing something or something so stupid along those lines considering its not even THE FULL SONG YET!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I can't believe some people are calling fans idiots for caring about who produced it!

Because it's Dre you morons. We want to listen to an album produced by Dr. Dre. His rapping is secondary, hence why he had tracks on both The Chronic & 2001 without him rapping on them. He is a producer first. Bet you fans saying this are like 15 years old and didn't listen to The Chronic or 2001. Just like him from I Need A Doctor.

    Idiot fans.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I don't care who produced it as much as I care if the track is even 10% worthy of all the hype Detox has gotten. The track is alright but it's not fire, it's merely a step in the right direction. People defending it like I can't hear the beat or that it's only half the song are in some religious denial and defense of Dre. Give me a break. Track doesn't do much but I'm not saying it must mean it's not good. Too little too late to get me excited for Detox.

    ReplyDelete
  31. why do people still listen to this 'S' faggot? he makes a post once every blue moon saying "yo, you will not be disappoint. new Dre track coming in 5 hours called dre's game by dr dre ft 50 cent and game" why the fuck does anyone beleive him? neptunes? honestly. i bet he googled 'hip-hop producers west coast' and just picked neptunes. neptunes sounds NOTHING like this track. as far as my ears are telling me, classic Dre mixing. heavy bass. clear hi hats. "I LISTEN TO CHRONIC AND CHRONIC 2001 THIS NOT DRE" <- kill yo self, they were 10 years ago the chronic is classic, chronic 2001 was doubted but still Dre made another classic. it seems the only people who dont like the songs so far are fanboy faggots from 10 years ago who still have their minds set on the sound made 10 years ago. new technology/new noises/new market. ofcourse it sounds different to your 'chronic days' dre. hate it or love it. just please dont be saying things that make you look stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Now this is more like what i wanna hear. good work dre im feeling this..now drop a video along with the album. This could be the song to kick start detox.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Die hard sounds like a better version of crack a bottle, similar beat and hook by eminem

    Eminem could have done better

    ReplyDelete
  34. ^^^ i liked Eminems rawness

    ReplyDelete
  35. Uzee, is it confirmed or is it just a rumour that the full version is gonna be released on Tuesday???

    ReplyDelete
  36. No solid source - just a tweet from sum1 unrelated to the label.

  37. like the whole song ,beat, dre verse, eminem hook but i wish eminem voice was not doubled it makes it sound wrong it doesnt fit the song

  44. Thank you Dr. Dre, for finally giving your REAL fans something to have some type of hope about. I'm not saying this is a classic track, because it isn't. But it does have that epic BANGER feel that we all expected from Detox. If you have a collection of tracks like this and better, then put Detox out soon. You are losing time and momentum with each delay.

Guys, let's call a spade a spade: this is a pretty hot track. A definitive step in the right direction, and proof that Dre hasn't completely lost his mind with pop tracks like "I Need A Doctor." This has that distinct Dre "feel" that used to get us excited back in the day as soon as we heard a Dre production. That's a good sign.

What I find most interesting about this track is that although Dre has clearly lost his key production collaborators over the years (Mel-Man, Mike Elizondo, Scott Storch, DOC, and although this song is NO WAY sounds like the production we loved on the 2001 album, it still rides. HARD. Dre can still hold it down. If anything, this beat sounds like a more polished rebirth of the "Get Rich Or Die Trying" production from circa 2002-2003. That production, while not on the level of the 2001 album, still was capable of attaining classic status. It's possible that this era of Dre production could do the same. We'll have to see, but at least I have a little bit of hope again...

  45. Royce did more openly oblige HipHopDX’s request for intel on another Dr. Dre related matter: How much has Royce’s pen been put to work for Detox?

“I did a few things,” he replied. “I laid down a few ideas. I don’t know what Dre’s using, because he has so much stuff. And its basically gonna be whatever direction that he decides that he’s gonna go. But, yeah, he reached out to me and I did a few things. I didn’t write like a whole bunch of shit, but I did some things. I did what he asked me to do.”

If Royce’s rhymes are recited for the Detox project, it will mark a reunion of sorts between the Detroit spitter and southern California super-producer. After Royce penned the string-laden dedication to Dr. Dre’s deceased brother for 2001, “The Message,” the ghostwriter’s manager reportedly told Vibe magazine during an interview, “I’ve seen Em sit Dre down like a pupil and coach him on rhymes.” That comment allegedly infuriated the good doctor.

“Me and Dre never had a problem with each other,” replied Royce when asked if he had to converse with Dre to smoothe over any lingering issues before resuming their working relationship. “That’s what people fail to realize. Me and Dre never fell out. Me and Em, we had a falling out. Me and Dre never fell out. We never had a problem with each other – no words, nothing. I think people confused the comment that [my manager] Kino got accused of making and Dre’s reaction to Kino; I think they confused that with me and Dre having a problem. If a grown man said something, or he’s accused of saying something, that a grown man doesn’t like, he has a right to react how he wants to react. If he decides, Alright, I’m not fuckin’ with him though, then that’s that. It is what it is. But me and Dre, it’s always been love. I’ve seen him since that, even when me and Em wasn’t really talking like that, and he showed me love. So, nah, we ain’t have nothin’ to talk about.”

And if there is ever anything touchy to talk about with the Aftermath Entertainment founder, Royce is well aware that he is no longer dealing with the same person seen taking a potato chip bag to the head in the insert to the 2001 album.

“Yeah, Dre’ll probably beat me to death,” he jokingly replied when asked about avoiding angering the producer and his Incredible Hulk physique. “I’ma go ahead and stay away from pissin’ him off. He don’t even look like he lifts weights no more; he look like he goes in the gym and just eats the weights.”

Thought this was interesting regarding Detox...

  51. Great track I think that it's a shout out to all of the "Die Hard" who have been patiently waiting for this album to drop I can't wait to hear the full length track Thanks to UZEE and all of the other "Die Hards" for keeping the hope alive I also believe that Kush and I Need a Doctor deserve their spot on DETOX Does anyone on here agree with me on this I also think that Mel Man,Storch, and Elizondo are still going to be involved with this album Is there anyone who can confirm this PEACE OUT ARTMAN

    ReplyDelete
  52. This is more like it if Detox sounds a lot this track I have more faith in Detox. I like what I hear so far but come on surely this WILL be on Detox right?

Why do I get the feeling Detox won't release until the Autumn at the earliest. If Detox comes out this Summer (which I highly doubt) I will be very surprised.

Anyway I hope Dr Dre releases "Die Hard" in it's entirety.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Detox is never coming out....We established this already back in 2009.....

    ReplyDelete
  57. Artman, Elizondo may have contributed some work toward Detox, but it's extremely doubtful as it would've had to have been a while ago before he ditched Aftermath and Dre. Since Dre has scrapped Detox more than once over the years, it's really doubtful the final product would have records on it from years and years ago. Bishop and Dre were both working pretty tight on Detox for a bit but since he also had to leave, I wouldn't expect him to be on anything now. Storch may have some co-production credits on it, he still works with Dre, but nobody but Dre knows what's going to make the final cut except him when he's done and only then. You have to remember there are easily hundreds of songs just for Detox, if not more, recorded for it that are ghostproduced and ghostwritten by so many people you wouldn't believe. Dre has no shortage of help from in-house producers like Khalil and everyone else. Mel-Man seems to have left Aftermath in '04 when Dre shelved Detox (nobody really knows what happened or when it did) so any of his beats or co-production on the album are really unlikely. You have to remember Dre lost his old team a long, long time ago, and Storch wasn't that much involved in "2001" anyway. D.O.C.'s influence may have stuck around but who knows (doubt it). Dre has had plenty of help from new guys like Slim da Mobster more recently until now, along with half the hip-hop industry, so the rest is up to Dre to get it to the level he wants. The old team and old sound is long gone forever. Dre's mixing and talent for perfection is there but he's obviously struggling to get Detox the way he wants and blow everyone away with something that's fire and sells.

I don't think anyone really wants to see Kush or INAD on Detox as much as they want new, better records on it. They're both played out and not as good as everyone expects. Die Hard is a good start but in the big picture it's not a particularly great record, at least when you're remembering this is supposed to be Detox level shit. Even doubters like myself still have to believe Dre has PLENTY of shit way better than these tracks because there's enough evidence of it. I'm hoping they got finished and put out just because they got leaked and picked up a good response, but it all seems like a much larger game to use the hype and music not even to keep Dre's name relevant and the hype still alive, but to sell more Beats headphones until Dre can get his game together and finish Detox for us to hear before he scraps it again. Detox isn't going to be as great as everyone expects it to be but it doesn't mean it won't be banging as fuck if Dre puts his heart into it when he knows what he wants it to be.

No reason to think it's out by summer but if Dre is putting out shit then it may be. But remember, we've been through this how many times? Nigga was supposed to be 2 songs away from finalizing the mixing last Autumn and we're already next to June of the next year. I'd like to see it out by June just in time for everyone to be bumping it all summer but it's done when it's done. Dre doesn't need to give a shit, he's making obscene bank selling headphones and keeping his name out there throwing out records like "Die Hard" for promotion, so there's no incentive for him to not make everyone wait another eternity. He's going to make sure it's what he wants before we hear it. Waiting for Detox is like waiting for Jesus, just enjoy your life now and don't bother anticipating it. I'd rather wait another few years for Dre to go out with a bang putting out something next level and near perfect I can bump forever than getting (what I'm afraid will be) a much less stellar album I expect from him now.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I know it sounds crazy but I think since "Die Hard" didn't come out as a single today is good news for Detox. I think he's going to announce the date soon, there's no reason that I didn't get released on iTunes today unless he really might save it for the album. any one else getting that feeling ???

    ReplyDelete
  73. wow you must be right since you used all caps and exclaimation points , and I think you have your name backwards , I think that the headphones will be used to promote the album , I think in pop culture that the headphones are more popular that the fans who have followed the album, so why don't you stay off the blog and let us hope

    ReplyDelete
  74. I have one issue with Detox. ITs holding other albums from coming out. Detox wasnt the only album i was looking forward to this year. It was just my most anticipated.
But because there isnt a solid release date for Detox, other albums are on hold. No one is gonna release their album if Detox is gonna come out a week later and overshadow their sales.
For example, J Cole has been saying his album was finished for a long time, and that he wanted a spring release. Then Detox gets delayed indefinitely and then suddenly J Coles album isnt finished. theres no news on it whatsoever. I guess he got tired of waiting, sounds like hes gonna drop his debut soon regardless.
And i liked Kush, and Die Hard. The first time i heard Kush i thought it was okay, but the more i listened to it the more i liked it. INAD is crap though. Good for an Eminem album, but not a Dre album.
I hate to say it, but INAD and Mr Prescription both sound like Dre is selling out. He has tons of money so he doesnt need to. but it seems like hes trying to appeal to all the kids. Not all the Dre fans from 2001 and The Chronic.
Theyre pop records. Kids listen to pop now days. Die Hard seems like its supposed to appeal to the 2001 fans, but it wasnt even released as a single.

Dre probably wants everybody to buy the album, and everybody to get something they like from it. He knows his 2001 and Chronic fans are going to buy the album no matter what. So he has to make sure the kids are gonna buy it too. Hence, INAD and Mr Prescription.
Its all marketing strategies. We'll see some classic Dre tracks, and some newer poppier Dre tracks.
My guess is, Detox will disappoint many, and surprise others.

  75. Hey Slim the Mobster is still in jail right? Any thoughts on no release date and this quiet period where not much is happening because of that? I mean with all the talk Slim has made about how much he has done with Detox and all would kinda make sense not to release it without him around no? I remember him going to jail for a few months so not sure the timing but gotta be out soon...maybe just a coincidence but summer release rumored to be is probably same timing as Slim's prison release

  76. DETOX = MARKETING FOR BEATS11 May 2011 at 04:11

hey richie b, i put this in all lower case and used no exclamation points just to appeal to u:

the reason i put "detox" first and "marketing for beats" second in the name is because detox is designed to keep dre's name relevant and thus increase the sales of his headphones.

without the word "detox", dre would be just like kobe bryant & tiger woods: old and washed up.

dre fell the fuck off, he knows it and that's why he's using this mythical album to keep him name relevant.

hope all you want, it is not coming out. why?
    because...

    there is no detox.

    thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  77. THERE IS NO DETOX RIGHT BACK AT YES HOW CAN YOU SAY DRE IS WASHED UP YES HE 'S OLDER THAN HIS N.W.A./ CHRONIC DAYS BUT IT DOESN'T TAKE MUCH PHYSICAL STAMINA TO PRODUCE HITS PEOPLE GET OLD THAT'S LIFE COMPARE HIM TO KOBE IN THE FACT THAT HE IS LEGEND 5 RINGS HOW MANY PLATINUM HITS ? 78. Detox isn't solely used for marketing purposes, the Beats headphones are just jumping on the bandwagon...anyways, every artist is promoting the brand of headphones, just watch any clip by will.i.am, fergie, nikki minaj, lady gaga, etc...Plus, think of this from a 2011 perspective, there are a lot of artists who have come to be the face of music, so Dre has slowly been bleeding his image out there with promotional tools just to hype everything up; every artist does this. Dre is doing it on a large scale because he is an important artist, and he wants to arrive on the scene as big as ever. Slowly this is coming to light, and on this note, it proves that Detox is coming very soon. Think of how regularly this blog has been updating over the years. I remember two years ago, Uzee would only update maybe every week, sometimes nearly a month would go by without any news, but now, almost everyday there is news pertaining to the album, or at least activity by Dre that is relevant to the album. Isn't this proof enough that this album is for real? Bloody hell, he has made a couple of songs (and clips) to promote the album. That's some pretty hardcore hyping considering your usual artist doesn't commit him/herself to hyping on that level (except for Usher's song DJ's got us fallin in love)

    ReplyDelete
  79. The songs I'm talking about are the one's that won't be on the album...meaning they are only there to hype up...usually when an artist has a hit, they'll mould an album using fillers to promote the single...but Dre is using these minor hits as a way to build up new anticipation from people who aren't die hard fans (like us), because right now, your average person will consider Chris Brown, Lady Gaga, Nikki Minaj, Drake and so forth more important and relevant...Dre is just trying to make himself relevant to a new audience...we're just frustrated because it's taking a long time to get everyone thinking about Dre. Remember, he did produce some bangers like In da Club and so forth, so imagine the beats he has kept for himself :)

  80. By the way Uzee, which country do you reside? I noticed that the time I posted the last two comments, it showed up as almost 2pm, and for me (down in Sydney, Australia), it's just hit 11pm (same day)
