Detox complete? According to Obie Trice

Obie Trice phoned into Conspiracy Worldwide to discuss his comeback album. Lastly he gives the world a sigh of relief that Detox is actually completed and just waiting to be put out.

  4. Man I really want to believe Obie is right, which he may be, since I've seen he's been still hanging around Dre a lot the past few years regardless of the tension and bullshit from years ago. That was him sitting in the studio in one of the HP Beats commercials with the little potential Detox snippet right?

I want to expect the Coachella sets were scheduled to build up momentum toward announcing an official release date or declaration of Detox being put out this year. Maybe even a 4/20 announcement. It's 2012 or nothing, let's hope Dre finally gives us fans something this time!

  5. Just like I thought! Am sure dre will put it out when he feels the time is right! I guess no body can force him to do so not even his fans. So its better to talk when it comes out!!!!!

  8. Ah damn that's right, thanks for clearing that up. I guess Obie's claims can be thrown in the big pile with the other comments about Detox being finished or nearing completion. At least we got Bottoms Up with a Dre-produced track to look forward to...

  9. I think Obie is chatting bullsh*t and only stated that Detox is done to draw attention towards his comeback album...

  10. This actually backs up kendricks claims late last year that detox was all most finished and The D.O.C. saying it was all in dres hands now.

  11. i doubt its comin any time soon, when was the last time Obie worked with Dre?

  12. At what point did he say it was done? I'm not saying he didn't i just didn't catch it?

  13. Kendrick never claimed Detox was almost finished, he was asked in an interview about it (like every interview he does) and only replied that it's in the mixing process - which could mean anything and probably meant nothing special. It's not like he went out of his way to claim anything, he replied to a question he's asked all the time. They've been recording and mixing tracks for Detox since sessions began in 2002 and since nobody is allowed to talk details about it, people took Kendrick's comment and made it out to be this big thing when it seemed to just be a throwaway answer to the millionth time he's been asked about the same thing.

DOC's comments about it in Dre's hands were just as vague and another example of people taking something way out of context and acting like it means something much more. The pattern here is that literally nobody, at least in the know, gives details about Detox because Dre is extremely secretive about what he does. According to DOC, Dre asked him to come from Dallas for around six months to help work on and finish Detox, so he put in his time and went back home. That's probably all "It's all in Dre's hands now..." meant. It means he did his part, he went back home, and now he's focusing in his own projects.

If and when Detox is completed, we'll know it from someone official like Dre, and even then his mind changes. Put Obie on the long ass list of people who said Detox is "done", "almost done", or this or that, and call it another day until the next time some name with an album coming out (especially with a Dre production on it) invokes Detox to hype people up.

  17. This is the first time that i am going to say this but i think that detox is complete or at the very final stages. Just like many others i have extensivly followed detox from around 2004 and i honetly think that it is looking promising. I believe that Dre was close a year ago but took a year to really perfect it with the help of snoop and Doc. Snoop said in a 2011 interview with tim westwood that dre is working with the wrong people. I believe that 2011 was about getting the right people on board overlooking the project.

One of the first pieces of evidence of detox being near completion is the other west coast artists dropping this year. Kendrick lamar, slim the mobster snoop, DPG,and possbily Doc are going to drop albums this year, and it is the perfect time for dre to drop. Dre is always at the forefront of any west coast movement and it would just make sense for him to drop this year.

Another factor is Dre working with a variety of different artists on their projects. Dre has been working with meek mill, rick ross, ti, tito lopez, nelly, etc. This is a pretty long list of artists and i dont expect all of these artists o be on detox. I believe that dre wants to be on everyones project once detox has dropped. During the detox timeline many rappers have said that once dre drops everyone will and this proves that.

Another factor is Coachella. I initially thought that Coachella would be another advertisment for beats by dre, but recently i have thought differently. In the UK and US beats by dre are seriously hot. I understand dre going abroad to advertise but in the USA Dre and snoop dont need a massive festival to advertise beats as they are big enough already.

Sorry for the long ass comment but i feel that dre is ready to announce something within the next few months, and get the west coast poppin again.

P.s What i have just said is my opinion so dont think that i am regarding these points as facts.

  20. Like it or not, Officer Ricky confirmed that the session he had with Dre in Miami was for both Detox and for his album God Forgives, I don't. Take it for what it is, but I hoping that maybe he means for a pre-detox mixtape and not for Detox itself buy who knows. Keep in mind Rozay is known liar. It wouldn't make much sense for Dre to be still recording for Detox if you have guys like Obie saying the albums done and DOC saying it's all in Dre's hands now. I'm okay Ross being on a mixtape, but I would be really fucking pissed if this guy made the album. Don't get me wrong, the guy's ite but nothing special and def not worthy of making the album. Either way, it is what it is. To be honest I'm actually excited to see what they came up with. We all know that Slim the Mobster has lig beef with rozay and he actually tweeted this last night:

    I can't lie this @rickyrozay and @drdre is the #DOPEST shit I heard in a #LONG time... #nohaterinme"

  21. I know they're working together or were, my only point was that Dre has worked with everyone at some point so it has context. Ain't a surprise. Like Ross said, they're seeing what comes out of it, he's not confirmed to be on Detox, and if Dre is feeling it then he'll keep it on the final cut of Detox - but you can say that about anyone Dre has put in sessions with.

I don't like it but it is what it is, and at this point I just want Detox without Officer Ricky making it a joke like his existence as a rapper.

I'll tell you this though, Slim isn't going to say shit because he's smart enough to know when to kiss Dre's ass and not go public with his objections. Look at the scorn 50 has gotten since taking his shit with Dre and Interscope to the public - that's something Dre just doesn't tolerate.

I'm sure there are a lot of dudes close to Dre and that whole Aftermath camp not into this whole Dre/Ross thing, but what are they going to say? Ross is hot, Dre is choosing to fuck with him, and nothing they can do about it. I wouldn't be that shaken if I thought Ross was a halfway decent rapper because I think he sucks ass and all his beats are the same. Oh well, at the end of the day I'm not going to lose sleep over a feature on a rap album lol.
