The R&B singer, who has been working on the follow-up to her 2008 album The Declaration, has been reported to have been spending a substantial amount of time in the studio with Dr Dre.
According to All Hip Hop, the label boss, who is rumoured to be producing Ashanti's entire fifth album, has been reported to be in negotiations to link the singer's publishing company Written Entertainment with his Aftermath record label.
