Dre featured in new Game track with Snoop

We were cautiously optimistic earlier this month when we mentioned that Dr. Dre was helping out the Game with The R.E.D. Album. The two rappers repairing their relationship and dropping those crazy Halloween-evoking beats (as well as dropping, in the Game's case, names) sounds great — but only if the powers that be ever let us hear it. Thankfully, a glimmer of hope called "Drug Test" has leaked onto the Internet, giving us proof that the album really does exist and might actually come out one day. And on top of that, the track goes ahead and throws Snoop Dogg into the mix. Look, they're doing it — they're really doing it!

  8. According to the leaker - kendrick lamar and j cole wrote for this record

I wouldn't mind a ice cube verse in the end!!

  9. Song sounds unfinished cos it has no structure. Snoop has like 4 lines. Dre's lyrics and delivery were poor. If Slim da Mobster wrote his verse, he should be fired. Doesn't sound like anything D.O.C. would ghostwrite. Beat is average but maybe unmixed.

  15. ive found a better quality version on an article and opened it on windows media player . if you slow it to 92-95 percent his voice sounds more like dre and the beat is a little more clear .

  17. Song is okay but it's better than Die Hard at least, which isn't saying much... I really keep hoping the finished Detox album doesn't just end up being full of records like this that may be cool to some but not even close to worth it for all the wait and hype. Records like this "good" and it'll probably work well on R.E.D. but then I wonder if this is the sort of caliber we can expect for Dre's album, realizing Detox was never at all the big musical deal we expected it to be and promptly feel like retards for it. Still excited for R.E.D., I'm waiting on that Dre-produced "Dead People" record and the collaboration with Tyler, the Creator.

  20. ^^

That link you posted (two above) regarding Warren G saying "Detox is coming" is OVER two years old. He was interviewed about that in 2009, and he made the comment a few months after the "Topless" and "Shit Popped Off" leaked tracks came out...

  23. seriously guys, i don't understand how u can say that this song is hot or that it's fire... for me it sucks. it's much worse than under pressure or kush, which weren't excellent (excellent in Detox terms) either. if that's how Detox sounds, I'm not buying it (I never thought that I would every say this)

  27. It's obvious to anyone with ears that it's definitely NOT any Dre beat, the guy a couple comments above is absolutely right, it's a Khalil production. I got the mixtape almost two days ago where this track comes from. Song isn't even that hot at all so how can anyone think this is a Dre record? It has zero signature Dre production tricks or mixing and screams Khalil all the way through. A simple listen to the snare sound is an easy giveaway.

People who got into Dre or hyped Detox the last few years can't even be blamed anymore because the simple truth is this: Dre buys beats now, he doesn't make them. He's the band conductor, not the band composer, and he'll admit it to anyone that asks. We've had this conversation before; it doesn't mean Dre is (necessarily) a fake, it just means his actual talents aren't what people think.

I don't know what changed but some of you thinking anything halfway decent that pops out must be a Dre production should do themselves a favor and listen to certified Dre beats from years ago, orient themselves with basic music theory, and just use your ears to tell shit apart goddamn. It doesn't automatically mean Dre's work is 100% heat by all standards, his REAL talent is bringing out the best of the artist with a surgically matched sound/beat/production + his mentoring (as executive producer = final say, puts the final touches, dictates the final product), and using his mixing alchemy to transform any beat he's given into gold.

  28. so many morons in here i swear. "lets judge music on what detox should sound like, instead of what it actually sounds like" grow a dick and get over detox, dre doesnt owe anyone shit. therefore you shouldnt expect shit. HAHHHAHAHAHHAHAH

  29. Someone needs to tell Dre to stop rapping like that. Sounds stupid. He should only try to be creative/original with the beats, not with his rapping.

    Drefan since 91
