Dr. Dre presents Snoop Dogg with the BMI Urban Icon Award at the 2011 BMI Urban Awards. After he accepts, Snoop joins Bootsy Collins, Game, Kurupt, Warren G, Daz Dillinger, The Lady of Rage, and Charlie Wilson to perform his classic "Who Am I (What's My Name)."
snoop gave a shout out on stage saying detox comin soon, now we know thats been said to death, but snoop said it in his acceptance speech for a BMI Icon award presented by dre, saying the doggs back, and said that big things are in the works, n that the dogg will make dre do it. this is encouraging, especially given the recent reunion with DOC! fans may yet get the west coast oriented detox they were hopin for
ReplyDeleteI just got done reading the Fall 2011 release list for Interscope records and there was no release date for Detox. Hopefully it will make it here by the end of the year.Im sure there is a really good reason why Detox is still delayed, I'll wait however long it takes. I really believe we will see something before the end of the year. the only thing I will be pissed about is if we do not see the finished " Die Hard track " It sounds amazing Dre owes us that. Its nice to see that there are still some devoted fans on this blog that are still not giving up hope on this record and believe it will still see the light of day. Thanks to you Uzee for not shutting down
ReplyDeleteDie Hard wasn't that big, just the usually decent Khalil joint but not up to Detox expectations. Detox should be the last classic album done together with all the WC icons + the new West like Kendrick, and it looks like Dre is at least on the right track and everyone including Snoop and DOC are on top of it making sure it's done right.
ReplyDeleteWe won't see it in 2011 probably but if it takes a little longer to get it right then who can complain? Ever since I saw that Doggisode Episode 3 with DOC, Snoop, Warren, Dre, and everyone in the room, it gave me a lot of hope the old crew is finally getting together to do this the way it should've been done in the beginning. Detox is going to be huge when it comes, but just keep being excited it'll be done right because the team effort that made the last two classics are at work on this one last one.
Dre needs to make an 'up in smoke 2' tour happen, that will generate shitloads of buzz again for detox!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't that excited of Die Hard, hopefully it's only a bonus track.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is Detox will drop in February 2012, new single in October/November
After the release of the I need a doctor single I thought that it was all over and that Detox weren't going to sound anything like an old Dre fan wanted to hear. But the recent footage of Dre back in the studio with D.O.C and Snoop has given me hope again. Dre has been a little bit lost in my opinion but he seems to be on the right track again finally!
