Damion ‘DaMizza book discusses Detox set-back

The book “Guilty By Association” by record producer Damion ‘DaMizza’ Young, 35, will be released.  

Besides other controversies, the book will not just be talking on working with and his past relationship with Mariah Carey, it will also speak on the set-back of Dr. Dre’s Detox, Jay-Z’s reign, recording and watching Eminem, Ludacris and many more.

Dre to release brand of Cognac, alongside Detox

For over ten years, legendary rap producer Dr. Dre has been promising that a new album called Detox  is just around the corner. We've reported the album's release countless times, only to retract and postpone the official date within months. Rather than actually finish the damn thing, Dre seems preoccupied with reissues and fancy headphones. Now, he's adding a brand of cognac to his list of projects that aren't Detox.

According to Billboard, Dr. Dre and Interscope Geffen have teamed up to create Aftermath Cognac, a Dre-inspired alcoholic drink that will be handled by cognac producer Abecassis Cognac. The partnership will also include an 80 proof sparkling vodka. Both drinks are said to be appearing “within the next 60 days.”

Hopefully, after consuming copious amounts of rap-inspired cognac and vodka, it will finally be time for Detox. The drinks are intended as an integrated marketing plan surrounding the album, which is still said to be coming out this year. We expect the alcohol to arrive on time, but we won't be holding our breath for the new disc before 2011.

Did Dr Dre's dominance overshadow many West Coast producers?

EA Ski was asked the question durin an interview.

AllHipHop.com: Sometimes I feel that Dr. Dre's dominance put a shadow over many West Coast producers. Do you feel that you may have gotten caught up in that?

EA Ski: That's a real interesting question. I think Dre was so instrumental in being able to make a record that was so powerful on the West coast that it did overshadow a lot of people. I don't necessarily think that was a bad thing. I just think that it raised the bar so high that it made you have to go into the lab and figure out what your thing was. A lot of people tried to follow Dre's format and by the time they followed it, it was old. You can't keep on having the high pitched sound and he's already done that. People have to understand that Dre had a great team around him. He has a label and a lot of West Coast cats are independent. When you think about independent you have to work a little harder. Dre programmed so many people, and had so many people, and he had so much dope music, you had to be on point for people to say you were a dope producer. To get on that radar like Dre, you gotta come with it, and I like that. radar like Dre, you gotta come with it, and I like that.
